I have 2 of these now. One in the car and one on my keychain. Between this invention and ride sharing there is no excuse to get a DUI. I've discovered that I don't feel good to drive well under the legal limit. Thanks for helping me be a responsible member of society.
I am super happy that I decided to purchase the key chain, it does not take up too much space, is is not heavy at all, it has definitely been on point of when I should not feel the effects of consuming alcoholic beverages. It easily connects to the app on my phone and easy to use.
This thing is so handy!! I've only had it for a little less than a month and my fiancé, friends, and I have used it a ton. The first-time m fiancé and I used it was at Christmas Eve. I drank an entire bottle of wine over the course of 4-5 hours, and he drank 4-5 beers and he blew a 0.01 and I blew a 0.04. We did eat during this time as well. I also used it when I went out drinking with my coworkers a week later, and by the end of the night I blew a 0.14 which was the highest I've blown on it. I definitely left my car at the bar that night. I also used it when I went out last weekend with friends and we all took turns blowing in it throughout the night. It was fun to measure where we were at through the night and compare! I highly recommend this for anyone who drinks semi-regularly to help gauge where you and your buddies are through the night because it can be hard to tell oftentimes. I want to give this as a gift now!
Easy to use, seemingly accurate, smaller than I expected. Just make sure you read the instructions on how to switch between Standalone and App modes.
I'm a social drinker and retired from practicing criminal defense law. I specialized in drunk driving defense in the last few years I practiced. This is an invaluable tool. Point 08 is a very low level for someone who has been drinking for years and has a tolerance. If some crazy person runs into you when you happen to be a point 10, you're in deep trouble. I bought my son one. He's taken ride shares more than once as a result.
The BacTrack was suggested to me to show that accusations of me drinking often or to excess are false. It works so well and has such a good rep that I now have that proof. I've let friends use it to make sure they were ok to drive. Keeps track of all results in a simple, uneditable app or works in stand alone mode. ( Thrilled my kids will always know the truth.) When they're driving in a few years, they're both getting one.
I started with an early BACtrack Mobile model that was effective but, as a gift, the C6 model has the best mix of size, weight, ease of use and accuracy. Since I am skeptical of using an online App to monitor blood alcohol data, the complete independence of the C6 from cell phones is advantageous. I already avoid mixing alcohol and driving so this was not my initial interest. I bought the first BACtrack to investigate the personal relevance of research claiming that creativity rises as BA rises to 0.05%, then declines slightly but completely falls apart at over 0.08%. As Andrew Huberman has pointed out, alcohol has complicated effects aside from its transitory effects on creativity. Moreover, getting a good night's sleep and focusing on a task within a few hours of waking enhances creativity even more. Nonetheless, in evening social situations, managing alcohol to keep BA below 0.05% and definitely below 0.08% seemed like a reasonable goal and I purchased two BACtrack models to help me experiment. It was very interesting and perhaps effective. I also now have a greater appreciation for my own driving rules. The main downside of the C6 is that there is no way to turn off its short beep when ready and the particularly noticeable long beep when taking a reading, so this makes the C6 less useful in social situations than the BACtrack mobile model that has a different downside; it requires the use of a smart phone. Some friends and family have been intrigued by my "creativity" experiments with the BACtrack and so I have gifted several C6 models. Although one of these C6 gifts has been used to investigate the effects of alcohol on various sorts of performance, most are used to limit risks related to driving. So the BACtrack C6 is a potentially fun serious gift.

So there's no excuse for leaving them at home and not being able to test yourself. Using the C6 is super simple. It warms up in seconds and lets you see where you're at in less than a minute. The screen keeps the instructions simple enough for anyone to understand. Watch the countdown, blow, get your results. Having the option to use the BACtrack smartphone app is great. It allows me to track where I'm at, and better understand how each beer impacts my BAC. The app also allows me to see when I'll be sober and know my limits. The C6 packs everything one could want into a breathalyzer they can take anywhere. The police-grade sensor means accurate results you can trust, but without the bulk typical units require. I highly recommend the BACtrack C6 to everyone wanting to know their limits, make better drinking choices, and keep themselves and loved ones safe. Having a drink is awesome. Just be sure you're safe about it.
It's a cool little tool and will keep you safe, if you're not sure how much you've had to drink.
