It replaced a 1.5 year -old Frigidaire that hadnt had proper soldering done in the fist place (GRRR) Having controls in the fridge AND freezer is great..but could have used a freezer LIGHT..and crispers w/ out a space at the front that ISNT COVERED by the shelf above it!..The bins roll out easily..;)

The most simplistic of the Whirlpool line meaning no fancy extras or bells and whistles, just good solid, sturdy workmanship. Keeps everything frosty cold all in the while running quiet and frost-free. That's all I wanted and I'm happy with my choice.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We bought this fridge a month ago following a compressor failure in our 3 year old LG fridge. This model is very basic and we hoped its simplicity would correlate with reliability. While cooling is ok so far, it is very noisy, loud hum/clicking sound (likely the condenser fan) which guests can hear all the way into our open concept living room. We have been married 49 years and never had to replace a fridge in all those years until the LG failed. I don't expect this Whirlpool is long for the world either.
