Oven/Microwave was installed 2 days ago and we have been very satisfied with it's performance. It is very quiet compared to the older oven combination we had.
Love this double oven, top is microwave combination save to have a separate oven which takes counter space. Touch buttons, giving good operational instructions, very easy to use. Perfect height for my size.
Just the right amount of space in each oven. Controls are easy to use and understand. Replaced a 27 year old GE combo oven and this one fit perfectly in the opening, it did go in about a 1/2" deeper probably because of the convection fan. Love it.
We love everything about the new GE profile microwave oven combination The only thing that I would change is being able to quick start putting something in the microwave to heat it up without having to go through a lot of menus other than that it works at performs extremely well
This wall oven microwave convection does it all. It replaced a still working 30 yr old GE oven - solid product - still! Very hard to find such quality these days.
I am loving my new double oven! It has many features and the best part is it's very simple to use!!! I cooked a Turkey and now Christmas Cookies! The oven was Perfection!! Happy Cooking!
So far the microwave has done okay. Compared to the old GE Profile Oven/Microwave the controls are not nearly as user friendly. On the old GE Profile you could push the number 2 button and the microwave would cook for two minutes to reheat the coffee. On the new GE Profile you have to push four selections to get to the coffee setting and then it is only for a 12 oz cup so you have to add more time for our 16 oz cup. Tomorrow we are going to cook a turkey so we will see how the oven works.
We just installed a new slate PT7800EK9ES and I'd like to be able to move the top and middle racks, but that's WAY easier said than done. I find no help in the manual and no videos either. The oven is probably too short for 3 racks and I'd like to be able to take one out and/or move one to allow for taller items like a turkey. Anyone know how to get these out?
The oven and microwave preform as expected. Microwave is a bit underpowered and the cook time can only be adjusted in 15 second intervals. The microwave timer finished beep volume is too low. Both the oven and microwave run very quietly which is a big plus. Overall it is a good value for the price point.
I have enjoyed this micro-convection oven for over a year but have two complaints that may or may not dissuade others from purchasing this type of oven. Other than the two issues, this is a very spacious oven with a lot of versatility and I use it often for any assortment of uses. It cooks roasts and other meats in no time at all, is great for thawing meats for spur of the moment ideas, and you can cook on the bottom rotating pan while also heating up something on one or even two racks. Very nice. Now for the two issues, both of which I think GE could address and correct for future models: First, I wish it had a feature to turn off the fan so that the oven could be used like an ordinary oven. Old family recipes, like my grandmother's or mother's breads, cookies, cakes, and any other baked goods should not be cooked in a convection oven, and the directions provided for use with the oven also do not adapt well for those old recipes. In fact, this is not a good oven for baking, period. More disturbing; however, is that it is HORRIBLE TO CLEAN! The instructions plainly state that you cannot use any oven cleaners and it tells you to put some water in a glass container, turn on the microwave to create condensation on the surfaces of the oven, then wipe with a soft cloth. This does not clean off the acrylamide (brown sticky) coating (see attached photo) that occurs over time and, since no chemicals are permitted, the oven will become pretty nasty, even in a year, and eventually, I imagine, will not cook efficiently because of all of the build-up. Sure wish GE would come up with a cleaner for their ovens that would get rid of the baked on nasty stuff!
