It is a very great device and the best streaming stick I have bought. It is now my main hub for all my subscriptions, replacing my PS5. It works really fast and the remote is very responsive.
I love this box. Extremely fast, and error free. I've been streaming for 20 years, and its the best Ive ever had.
This is by far the most high performance media player on the market. If you do streaming or have video files on your home network that you need to stream this is the beast that you want. Super fast responding including a very high quality remote with the automatic backlight.
The Nvidia shield is fantastic. It works like a charm. If you are an audiophile like me this is the only streamer to have and use. No other streamer on the market works as well as this one. And I repeat none of them except the NVIDIA Shield pro allow to pass almost every audio format in use today to your AV receivers that can process most of these audio formats used by the movie and television recording industry. Like DTS TRUE HD DD ES and DD X just to name a few The quality is beautiful and the remote is awesome. Take my word this is the best unit available today period,by far.
This machine can deliver full DolbyVision as well as HDR10 , and all the new lossless object based surround sound bubbles like DTS:X and Atmos. A streamer's delight.
Fastest streaming device I've ever owed . Paired with a 128gb flash drive and 4tb external drive.
A very small but powerful device. The 4k capabilities are excellent, and the interface/response is real smooth.
It seems like a good device that gives you a lot of options. I specifically bought it to play 4k mkv files from an external drive. The only issue I have had so far and it seems that many people too - the remote controller gets randomly disconnected from the device and it gets stuck. You have to either remove the batteries from the remote or unplug the Shield from the outlet. One of these steps should help. I am surprised that the manufacturer has not fixed this problem since 2019.
The hardware thrives, which is great, but ultimately the only important factor in driving home a good experience IS the software. Botched software update out of the box, and a pesky error message that refused to go away on my TV screen when watching OTA television. I bought this hoping the Live Channels app would bridge the gap between my ATSC 1.0 and ATSC 3.0 HDHomerun tuner, however, both the HDHomerun app and the Live Channels app (when the OTA signal would intermittently fail due to weather) the Android TV would display an annoying message the bottom stating a video problem and REFUSE to leave the screen. Even after exiting the app and returning to the home screen the error message would stay on the screen. Another issue was a botched update to the latest version of the OS did not go well, had to reboot machine multiple times to get past the upgrade page, eventually out of a stroke of luck (Android being Android) it worked. Android has always been, "its great, until its not" type of experience. With phones I don't mind so much I can reflash. None of my important data is physically stored "on" a phone, but with a media experience you aren't going to be reluctant as much to reflash. Way too annoying to re-set back up. The software has to be flawless. Its not the hardware that fails, its the buggy software.
I ordered new device but received used device! Scratches, smudges and prints visible on unit and remote.
