Had a Dot in my bedroom and replaced it with the IHome with Alexa. The dot has moved down the hall to my sons room. I learn new features of it daily and love it even more.
It works great! You will two app on your phone ihome and amazon Alexa to get set up, once you do that your ready! Make sure you have WiFi and let charge completely!
This is such a nice alarm clock. Little tricky to set up but requires a little effort. Sounds way better than average. Bluetooth works perfect. Colors settings are fun to play with. iHome app is decent. Spotify functionality is A+. I don’t utilize the Alexa feature so I can’t really comment there. Setting alarms requires Alexa so there’s that. All around 5 stars compared to other options online.
This iHome product is as exceptional as all the other purchases I have made of their products. Instructions are concise and easily understandable.
This stereo/speaker system is powerful! With the 'Far Field Voice Activation' you'll have no problem being heard. Alexa makes it even easier to do a myriad of tasks. Also, the avaiable app makes things even easier. The sound quality is above and beyond what you would expect from a smaller unit such as this (compared to a base stereo unit). My only complaint would be it didn't come with any instructions, so setup was a bit challenging. Overall though, I would highly recommend this product! I'm really pleased with this product. The sound is amazing and can get incredibly loud. I was looking for a new alarm clock with Alexa capabilities to control the Philips Hue lights and Fire TV in my bedroom. However, this is not a perfect product. For one, if you set Routines on the Alexa app the won't work with this product. I have an Echo Dot in my kitchen and that's the only device where routines will work. There also isn't a backup battery if you lose power for any reason.
It is a nice attractive device. Shortcomings include the fact you cannot dim the brightness of the display (Except the colors at the bottom). Also, when we went off daylight savings time, it did not adjust. I had to change time zones in the settings to display the correct time. Integration with Alexa is nice. Bluetooth works great
It is a good clock and with Bluetooth and charging, great for my iPhone. But as an elect enabled device I am truly disappointed. Thus I have turned the mic of and brought back my Echo Dot. I am not blaming iHome but if it is not an amazon product there are things not supported, such as Serious/XM as well as other skills. They might come with time but if I had know I would not have bought this model.
It refuses to communicate with the app even though I tried two different iPhones (7 & 6+) and reloaded the app and rebooted the phones. My WiFi works just fine with everything else I have including Amazon Echo. Service tech said he can fine no problem...oh terrific. No problem means same results when they ship it back. Will only consider Amazon products for any new Alexa items. This has been nothing but a pain thus far.
I just bought myself this new alarm clock except I have an Android phone and I can't find the app anywhere and no service or links on your site to help me. please help me !
