Perfectly fit my 17” laptop. Couldn't ask for a better fit!
I trusted the reviews from others and low and behold, THEY WERE CORRECT. After positioning a mostly assembled product where I wanted this to operate, with multiple mounting options, I decided to try the clamp mount. Glad I did. I had no drilling, no marring of the furniture, and most of all, a sturdy movable, capable very heavy laptop articulating stand. I chose to mount my three fan cooling system to the included laptop tray, and utilized the cable routing clips for the power cord and to hold my cell phone charging cable out of the way.......Very happy
Sturdy! Well-constructed. Was considering a rolling stand, but found this and couldn't be happier. We had to use a block of wood for the vice grip, but that's because my nightstand has beveling. I've used this for months now and am pleased I went with this.
Great mount for a laptop, however the laptop tray itself wobbles a bit from left to right. This allows the laptop to be tilted a bit. I can manually push it back into place, however it doesn't seem to be something which can be fixed or adjusted.
working well to hold my lap top at eyelevel. Plenty of tilt - which you need to keep the keyboard of the laptop from blocking the view of the desk surface (so far I just have the lap top on it in the desk center). Its HEAVY. Not sure it the arm needs to be so massive but it does need to be strong so maybe thats how it has to be. The plate that holds the laptop seems absurdly massive. Adds to the load on the arm quite a bit. They should offer a light weight version. The only "miss" is there is no tilt (that I found) to make the screen vertical. it tends to tilt a tiny bit. but its acceptable. Part of the reason for the heft is to keep it all aligned but with such a massive arm and then the holder itself is impossible to be perfect. All in all though I like it. it doesnt stick out the back of the desk much which helps with small desk. I got it about 3" behind desk back edge - in order to get laptop far enough away. This could be less if the vertical arm were place further to the right but my setup wont allow that. These mounts (all of them) face complex geometry and design vs use case choices. This one looked to fit my situation best and its working. I'm going to see if a 2nd arm will fit in my setup to hold a small 2nd screen.
I bought to use as a means to easily store my computer out of the way when not needed in an RV. With a few modifications to the attaching mechanism it works as intended. So far so good, it works as I needed it to, no complaints, for the price you can't go wrong if this is something you are wanting to have.
This unit is VERY solidly built and pretty straightforward to assemble. It is designed to be a laptop stand OR a monitor moun t with necessary hardware for either version. The assembly instructions for the laptop-stand configuration are a bit less detailed and miss one important point. There is a nut that secures the tray to the mount after it slides into the bracket. If you miss it, the tray will come loose when pushed and might drop your laptop onto the floor. The nut is identified in the monitor-mount section and is used the same way.The tray was still a bit loose even with the nut so I took it off and tightened the bracket slot by whacking the two L-shaped side elements of the bracket (not the tray) with a rubber hammer. Worked well, check as you go so you don't overdo it.The clamp for mounting to a tavbletop is made in two pieces held by two bolts in tapped holes, allowing coarse adjustment before you employ the clamping screw. It could fit a very thick tabletop.
