I really like the Casio Databank watch and Walmart has it in stock at a great price. I call it my nerd watch because it can do everything but the dishes!
The watch was a perfect gift for my husband. He love it. He liked all the features included, except for the warranty and that the light button was not at the side like his previous. But everything about the watch was great, if you don't mind the light button being in front...it is the best watch ever.
I hope Wal-Mart never stops selling this watch. I've had a watch like this when I was younger and I will get it again if they still sell it 10 years from now!
I have owned this watch and all previous versions since 1989. This is the best watch I have ever owned! I feel naked without it. The shameful thing about it is that it is not listed as being water proof, WHICH IT IS! Now, after 15 years on this DB150, I only need a new one because the numbers and letters have worn away. BUY THIS WATCH just for the phonebook and use it for everything else. I wish it had a download/upload feature because I can rely on this more than my cell or address book! In 15 years the only other downside has been a decrease from 12 letters to 8 in listings. I LOVE this watch! I recommend it to anyone techy or just in need of a gadgit when a cell isn't handy. Too bad it doesn't make calls too! (Check out the casio databank 500 series in 1990 and the casio camera watch! They were awesome!)
I have owned 12 of these watches. I will order number 13, as soon as I leave this site. I own 2 nice Seiko watches. I owned a S.S. Rolex, I wear them for dress sometimes. Mostly they stayed in the safe. The Casio Data Bank Watch are great. I used them in my work, then I retired in 99. I was so used to having them, I still keep one.The bands usually break after a year or two. The guy who said he had used one ( the same one ) for 15 years is full of mud. No way. Buy one of these watches, you will never regret it. I usually buy the black ones, but have owned 2 of the S.S. ones. WalMart is best place to buy one.
The only thing that is lacking in this watch is a computer link. It keeps great time. All you want to look at is there without touching a button. DAY, DATE, TIME, SCHEDULE, ALARMS SET, etc.... The next mode is phone numbers (up to 150 shared memory with shedule). It is nice to have all of your phone numbers ALWAYS with you. EVEN if you don't have your cell phone, you always have your watch on! Break or lose your cellphone? You still have it in your watch! There ALSO is a: CALCULATOR, a SCHEDULER that allows you to maybe remind yourself to call someone on their birthday, go to a meeting, remember a court date, etc....(shared with telephone number memory up to 150 events!), ALARM, TIMER, WORLD TIME (can show god knows how many different times around the world!), STOP WATCH. THIS WATCH DOES A WHOLE LOT!!! Their is memory if the battery starts to go that saves all your phone numbers and scheduler info until the batterery can be changed. It has a 2 yr battery life. The downside is if you are older the tiny keyboard is hard to see without your glasses on. It takes a while to learn ALL the features on the watch. IT DOES SO MUCH. For the money, it is an AMAZING WATCH. It's to bad it is not voice activated so you don't have to use the tiny keyboard as much. If you can use a limited PDA on your wrist, it is really GREAT. I use it mostly for the phone number storage, watch, calculator, alarm, timer. I don't schedule that much, stopwatch much, world time I just leave on Hong Kong (I have relatives there.) It is water resistant. Unfortunately it looks a little nerdy. Overall, it is an amazing tool to have on your wrist with you at all times. WOW!!!!
I got this watch as a "gift", since I wanted a watch with features like data bank, night illumination, calculator, etc. This compact watch is excellent for the price and I use most of the features, especially, scheduling, phone book, etc. almost every day and has made my life a lot easier. The only con is that, though it is water resistant, it is not "completely waterproof" - cannot wear in the shower. I wore my previous watch in the shower, but I don't mind it with the Casio-DataBank, since I have now gotten used to it. Great watch, for a great price with great features and I recommend it very strongly !!!
I have had two of these for the last 20 years. The watch works indefinitely. The band breaks often, which is why I have to have two. Now the cost of replacement bands (when you can find them) has risen to $30. Why don't they put a decent band on such a good watch?
