Nice kettle

Just what we were looking. Do you really want to pay 40 or 50 or 70 bucks for something just to boil water?!? Not me. Can't speak to durability, kind of a silly rating unless what you bought fell apart as you were unpacking it, which this did not. But we had one of these some years back and it lasted just fine.

I've tired fancy styles of tea kettles and they drip water and handles get hot and they don't come close to this basic tea kettle. I have this small one and the larger version which I've had for years, and you couldn't ask for a better designed kettle.

Great, practical little kettle :)

I would definitely not let "too small" affect my review, as it states online very clearly how much water this kettle holds. The whistle is loud and clear and builds VERY quickly - definitely gets your attention!! It's lightweight, even when full, which is very good for my weak wrists (I have carpal tunnel) I have not had any issues whatsoever of the handle heating up in any way - I fill it, let it boil, and remove it immediately once it starts to whistle. No issues. Perfect size for basic use and a household of 2-3 people. If you need large quantities of boiling water for any reason, I recommend sizing up. I have shown my hand opening the kettle in one of the photos so you can see the gap-size between the handle and the kettle. If you have very large/thick hands you'll want to be very careful. I have also shown the kettle sitting next to a typical pepper-grinder for size reference. Apologies about the state of the kettle, I just made home-made french fries and realized I didn't wipe it down before taking the photo.

This is my second tea kettle of this kind. The first one lasted 17 years. If you make tea everyday this is the perfect size for you. Great value for the money.

Only one complaint, which is really my fault for not being diligent enough. Too, too tiny! Looks like kids toy teapot! Made me laugh when I took it out of it's box (which was pretty much to the size I thought I would be getting, but was 80% empty cardboard). Can't be all my fault, no measurements only measurement by cup size? Like, not even number of ounces of the cups!? Measured it myself fits inexactly ( to the very brim, which you wouldn't fill a whistler cause it would bubble out). Fits 5 1/2 , 8 oz. standard liquid cups, so about 5 "cups". Other than that, I love it, perfect handle, heats fast , peeps loud when on full boil, sturdy too, but for people with small cups, not coffee buckets like mine.

I had this item shipped to an older relative. The item arrived quickly and in excellent shape; it was well protected in the shipping box and arrived with no imperfections. My relative is extremely happy with her new teakettle. She had her old Revere teakettle (same make and model) for over 20 years and it was wearing out from constant daily use. This relative had been searching for this item in stores for a period of time to no avail and was quite surprised that I had found it online, at Walmart. What she loves best about the teakettle is the size and the fact that it whistles to remind her that she put water on to boil.

I had accidentally ruined my 20 year old larger Revere Ware copper-bottomed whistling tea kettle, so I thought I'd save some money and buy a cheaper generic tea kettle. Big mistake! It felt really chintzy and I was afraid it would melt on the burner! So I found this smaller Revere Ware copper-bottom 6-cup whistling tea kettle on walmart.com for about $5.00 more and am very pleased with its quality and the flavor of my tea.

Whistle dose not work correctly.

This is my second one of these Teakettle's in 10 years. The first one is still working fine. The new one looks the same except the metal top piece on the Whistle has a larger whole and its flatter. So it dos not start Whistling until the water is boiling to the maximum, about another 5 minutes of time on the stove. This is a clear manufacturing problem. But the Utility Companies will like the extra money you pay them.

I was happy to find the same teakettle that I've been using for years. I thought I would buy another one for a backup. I started using the new kettle a week ago since we were expecting house guests and the new one looked better sitting on the range top. The tea kettle is just the right size and right grip for my arthritic hands. However, I was disappointed to find out that this particular kettle doe not whistle. You cannot tell when the water is boiling. I should have probably returned it but I had already destroyed the paperwork and box. I did notice that the new kettle was made in China and was lighter feeling than the old one.

This product leaked around the rim of the copper bottom after 2 weeks of use. You can see the corrosion spreading around the rim. I had to return it. I really liked the size, the shape, ease of use, the sound of the whistle...it's just too bad the quality of the material is sub-par. I've been using Revere ware all my life. This one is a disappointment. Right now I'm debating whether to re-order and give it another try. Maybe not...
