excellent craftsmanship & performance.
These knives are very sharp and are the best I have used - they cut through everything like butter and feel "just right." I now know why chefs are always talking about the importance of using sharp knives and after using these, I now want to upgrade my entire aresenal of knives. If the knives in the large Better Homes and Gardens set are anything like this, it would well be worth the price. I love these and would not mind owning a second set - at this price, they are an incredible bargain. Don't hesitate to purchase for yourself or as a gift - any cook would love owning this set.
First off, let me just say what a deal this was. The knife, alone, sells for $30. And the paring knife is another $15. So, to get them both for $15 was a steal! Now, onto the quality. These knives feel like they were made for my hands. The handles are smooth & perfectly made for my large hands. The only problem is, because they're so smooth, they might become slippery when wet. The overall feel is great - nice weight; well balanced, seems to hold a nice edge (sharp right out of the box, too!) Overall, just a great knife for a great deal. I have a couple other BH&G knives, and they're all the same superior quality. I highly recommend these knives!!!
These appear to be well-made knives at a great price. Time will tell.
These knives came as a free gift with the WM value of the Day, the Betty Crocker enamel cookware set. I gave them to my daughter as a Christmas present. She states that the knives are very sharp and well-balanced. Tomatoes sliced with ease as did celery, potatoes, and carrots. So far, she is pleased. Can't beat the value and was a nice 'extra' for Christmas.
