This 12V cooler is just perfect in every way. It is a great size, not excessively heavy due to it's "soft" nature, and has a good amount of capacity for the basic road trip. I was able to put in 12 soda cans some fruit, other lunch foods, chocolate candies, and other edibles in small Zip-Loc containers and still had room leftover. Buying the AC Adapter makes it highly portable into your hotel room. Best thing: no more midnight jaunts for ice to keep things cool ever again! I noticed only a small amount of condensation after 3-4 days and merely wiped it out. It does make a bit of noise that is usually drowned out by the engine noise of your vehicle, but when you take it into your motel room and use the AC adapter, the hum of operation can be a little annoying. I tucked it into the bathroom and shut the door. This is the only downside of this product, but I imagine it is true for all coolers of this sort.
This is the best cooler they could have ever created. No ice, no mess. It kept the milk and other snacks that I had cool for the trip we made; It gets really cold. However, for the price of the product I think the power adapter should have been included. Other than that it's an awesome product worth the money spent!
Excellent product! I found it to be very quiet and I had it in my tent with me for four days in 90+ degree heat with humidity of 1000%. It kept my food cold and the cheese was still perfect after 5 days of camping. I found that in that heat it kept everything at the 40-45 degree mark. The only thing is that there does tend to be a little water that builds at the bottom after the 5 days so make sure you just wipe it out every couple days for the condensation that normally builds up. Really a great product!
This was a birthday present for my husband and he loves it. There are pockets everywhere and plenty of room inside to pack a whole picnic. It's nice and tall so packing large bottles is no problem.
Fits perfect in my front seat--make sure to put chilled ONLY items inside--room temp items take hours to even cool down. forgot to unplug it one night and left it on and battery was dead in the morning (car)...BUT great item, great price
We bought this cooler to use on a trip to Yellowstone. We also bought the optional 110v/12v adapter. It was our primary cooler, but we also had a small Playmate cooler which used crushed ice for cooling. When we stopped in a motel (in route) we used the adapter in our motel room which kept stuff in the cooler cool. I found it useful to also use a small plastic bag of crushed ice in the Kooltron cooler which helped keep it really cool. When we were camping, we put the cooler in our car as we drove through Yellowstone during the day. At night, we bought a small bag of crushed ice for the Platmate cooler, which only used about 1/3 bag,and kept the rest of the ice in the Kooltron. that kept everything cool overnight when we were in the campgrounds without electricity. This worked really good for us. We also plan to use the Kooltron on a day-to-day basis, as we have to drive 30 miles to nearest grocery store, and now we can put refrigerated items in the cooler to keep things cool until we get home. We also were careful not to block the fan area at the bottom of the bag, and even put some towels around the cooler to help it work better (be careful not to block the heat exchanger on the outside of the bag at the end). That area must be kept clear for good air circulation. Use it right and it will work good for you!
The things I liked about it are the flexibility of the product, the length of the cigarette lighter cord (long), the quietness of the motor/fan, & it did keep things cool. The only thing that didn't work too well was that it really couldn't keep the can & bottle (the holders on the side) cool or cold. Hope this helps anyone.
I have used this product 24 hours a day for the last 2 weeks both in the car and with the optional AC adapter and found it to be a very good cooler. It is quiet and keeps a steady cool temperature. It works better if items are already cooled when you place them in the cooler. Also, periodically you need to wipe out the interior as condensation can form on the items inside the cooler and drip onto the bottom. Overall, I like this cooler and recommend it.
