The Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500 is an ultra high performance summer, or three-season tire with the highest level of dry and wet grip. The tread rubber has Firestone Tires' patented Long Link Carbon rubber formula that makes this tire last longer. These tires are also extremely durable to resist the high heat associated with high speed performance driving and hard braking. There are two steel belts wrapped in high performance nylon, with a stiff bead filler in the sidewall of the tire. The tread pattern itself features massive square profile shoulder blocks which give awesome traction levels during cornering, with a progressive breakaway. This means the tire is more predictable and easier to drive at the limit. Also, the use of Firestone O-Bead technology serves up a more comfortable ride than you would expect from a sport performance tire.
