I was surprised to see the real thing when I opened the box. The lamps were in great shape, as well as the shades! The only thing missing was that thing that mounts on the lamp post and holds the shade above the light bulb. I thought those came with the set. Oh well, see... I'm a guy... what do I know? huh? Oh yeah they look great on my new end table in the living room and my new nightstand in the bedroom (which I guess I'll be reviewing those too? Hey, how do you get people to do this?)
When I first viewed the lamps online I thought they would be smaller. Although taller than I expected they still fit perfectly in the space I had for them. They add a very nice look to the room. The silver paint on them is a little cracked but I imagine you could paint over that with the color you like. Overall I did like these lamps.
I was disappointed because i got an e-mail telling me the lamps were delayed in transit and could not tell me when they would be in. I made a call and was told they were at the store and ready for pickup. Surprise! I thought the lamps would be a little bit more heavier, and the pleats in the shade were missalign. I kept them because they will do for now......
I bought this lamp set to go in the living room. The paint quality looks nothing like the web site picture. If these lamps had arms they could play the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz. The web site says 60 Watt max. for the light bulb but the label on the lamp says 40 Watt max. A little too dark to read the Wizard of Oz to my Grand Daughter. Having the on/off switch in line with the power cord is a pain. We will probally use them in the rec room as nothing matches down there anyway.
I was so excited when these lamps finally arrived. I took them out of the box and the shades are really nice, but the base looks like something that I could make. You could tell it was spray painted. One of the lamps was fine, but the other one was completely unstable, very wobbly. It obviously wasnt put together right. So now I have to return them and wait another 5 weeks!
This lamp set looks better in the picture than in actuality. They're much smaller than you would expect and the 'finish' seems very, shall we say, 'cheesy'. The lamp shades are small and very generic looking. Wish I would've spent the extra money to get better looking lamps.
The lamps looked great in the picture. However, when I opened them, they were very wobbly, and I think there were parts missing. There was no assembly instructions, and I couldn't figure out how to attach the shades. Terrible, terrible, terrible. I will be returning them tomorrow.
The "chrome" is really silver spray paint and the shades were so flimsy that I needed to bend the wire inside the shades in order for them to be back in their correct shape. The on/off switch was on the cord. I promptly returned these! Don't waist your time!
I don't know what they put on the grey part to make it look silver but I want some. these are the cheapest quality and cheapest looking lamps ever!
Love the concept hate the product! The lamps were not brushed nickle but spray painted brushed nickle. One of the bases was loose and could not be tightened so it leaned to one side. The shades were adorable except that one of them was dented. If the lamps would have been solid and the shades weren't damaged I probably would have considered keeping them.
