CHANGED TO STANDARD TIME AUTOMATICALLY IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS-ACCURATE TEMPERATURE INDOOR,OUTDOOR & TIME-REMOTE SENSOR AT LEAST 40 FT.AWAY FROM MAIN UNIT. CELING DISPLAY CAN BE READ AT NITE EVEN WITH NITE LIGHT IN NEXT ROOM. I MOVE IT BETWEEN HOUSE & MY CAMPER WITHOUT LOOSING SETTINGS (BATTERY BACKUP) REQUIRES SOME COMMON SENSE AND READING & FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS TO SET UP.
I purchased this clock to replace another projection clock I had used for years. The Outside temperature works great. The clock looks to be well manufactured and sturdy. I highly recommend this clock. An excellent value at this price. A satisfied user.
This is my second La Crosse projection clock. I purchased my first one about 2 years ago and it has performed flawlessly. I decided that I needed another one for my home office. Before I purchased my first clock (for our bedroom), I was concerned that the projection light on the ceiling might keep me/us awake. I need not have given it a thought. One would not even know the time/outside temp was even being projected on the ceiling if you didn't look up. That being said, note that the projection on the ceiling or wall is only visible in the dark. One cannot see it during daylight hours. It's there. . . you just cannot see it. The automatic time update keeps the time accurate. The remote outdoor temp function also performs as advertised. All in all, I have not found a single reason to fault the product. Buy it with confidence.
This projection clock isn't bad by any means. I have another one that I got as a prize that regularly runs about $60 or so. That one looks similar to this one and does pretty much the same thing, with a couple of exceptions. It would be nice to be able to adjust the projection's intensity so it'd show up with a softer light on, but it shows up clearly in the dark. Definitely a good buy if you're looking for a decent priced projection clock.
One problem was that the projection image cannot be rotated. So if you place it on your headboard, you would only be able to read the image on the ceiling. If it is projected on the wall, the image is upside down. Also, the clock was smaller than I expected.
This clock has nice features and the price is reasonable. However the projection is not powerful enough. Also I wish that there was a turn off button for the projection for day time use. We have another projection clock with both of these features. All and all this is a great clock. Thank you so much, <><< frog ☺
Ive had my atomic projection clock for over two years now and I have been absolutely spoiled by being able to lie in bed and see the correct time and outside temperature projected on my ceiling for me to see anytime of night. Bad news is that the plug in that powers the projection on the ceiling at all times is on the fritz. I COULD call the customer service number, but I'm SURE it would be cheaper to repurchase than send off to have fixed. I'm so spoiled by this clock that I'm right now on the way out the door to Walmart replace it.
I bought the item as a replacement for another atomic projection clock that had stopped functioning properly. The new unit is very compact and, as such, has a pretty minimal display: time, indoor temperature, indoor humidity, and outdoor temperature. The initial setup was a bit touchy, it took an hour or so for the outdoor temperature sensor to register the correct temperature and to communicate with the base unit -- even though the remote sensor was located only a foot or two from the base unit, just on the other side of an outside wall. The atomic clock settings did not register until the unit had been in place overnight. With any luck, the clock will self-adjust more quickly when daylight time starts and ends. Most other atomic clocks and watches I have used have been able to adjust themselves to the radio signal within minutes; not so with this unit. Other than setup requiring quite a bit of patience, the unit seems to perform fine. Walmart's on-line price was quite low and the option to save the shipping charges by having the unit shipped to a local store, made the item an even better value.
For the cost, this is OK; and hopefully will be more reliable than the previous Oregon Scientific model. The stand is flimsy, the ceiling projection does not rotate (so the entire clock must be turned to a readable position) and the time and temperature alternate their display, rather than both displayed simultaneously. The alarm is very soft, so hard sleepers might miss it. In balance though, a lot of features for the money.
We had a product like this with similar features for several years and it quit displaying the outdoor temp. Saw this one on Walmart.com and thought it would be the same. However, it was not. It only displayed the outdoor temp and time and not the indoor which the other one did. The numbers are faint and smaller and harder to see and now it already will not display the outdoor temp. We have to turn it around because we only have one side of the bed to put it on and evidently it needs to be on the other side. The price was good, but is was nothing like our other one. It's also hard to set and I can't get it off Daylight Saving time, so it's always an hour ahead, so I would not recommend this product!
