I bought one of these in October,2011 at the store and for seeing street signs at night and identifying anything else I need to it, there is absolutely no reason y i would need something heavier, brighter, or more expensive. This actually fits into the pocket of my winter jacket. Because some spotlights with built in rechargeable batteries get to a point where the batttery won't accept a charge, I like the fact that this runs on 4 regular c cells. If I start using it alot, I will look into getting some nimh c cells. Buy this!!!!!!!!!!! U won't regret it but if u do, u know Walmart - just keep the receipt and take it back if I am not right. By the way, at this price and considering I always like to have a backup, 1 day after I bought this I bought a second one.
I have had many spotlights. The giant, rechargable ones that are great for about a day, then every time you use it, it loses more and more light. Most are junk and very expensive. I bought this little spotlight just because I saw it on the shelf. It's little, light, has two settings, runs on C batteries. The distance that this little light can travel is amazing. We live in the country and are always investigating what goes bump in the night outside, and this spot light has proved to outshine all the big, mammoth, expensive ones. Very handy to have beside the bed, in the hall, where ever you keep your flashlights. I am going to buy several more for my family members. Much rather buy the c batteries than plug the thing in and wait. Haven't had it very long, don't know how long the batteries will last, but have used it many times already and we're still going strong. Excellent buy.
This is hands-down, the best little $20 light you will ever purchase. I can easily get 200 yards out of mine with no filters and unlike a lot of the others - it uses real batteries. No weak rechargeables that fade after the first use. Plus, the LED's are handy and don't blow when you drop the light.
