This steam iron is excellent in every way, except that large digital display takes away a lot of handle space. Due to this, the [ - ] and [ + ] buttons get pressed inadvertently. But overall a good product.
I got excited when I saw this iron. A digital, with auto shut-off & shot of steam for such a good price! But my complaint is the same as everybody elses. The controls are in the worst possible place. Don't they have focus groups anymore to test products? I'm actually glad for the beep. At least it alerts me everytime the temp changes so that I can readjust it & not ruin my garment. But, I'm so tired of that happening. On the plus side: it heats very good & I haven't had any problems with leaking. In spite of that don't buy this iron. It'll wear on your nerves.
This is my second time purchasing this iron in two months. Both times I encountered the same problem after a few weeks of use. The soleplate lost its non-stick properties. Bought another iron and conducted a controlled experiment over the course of three weeks and the non-Sunbeam iron still glides across clothing but the Sunbeam sticks to the families clothing. I do not know if this is a quality control issue but it is the only issue i have with the iron. I consider it to be a major issue.
I purchased this iron for basic ironing - didn't need anthing fancy. Thought the steam feature would be an added bonus. I took the iron out of the box and filled the water container to just below capacity, as directed in the instructions. When I tried to use the steam, water dropped out everywhere. Tried to drain the water out in the sink and the water went everywhere - from the bottom of the iron. Totally useless iron! Also, the digital heat control on the item is placed in the WORST place it could be. It is located where you grab on to the iron, so when you grab the iron, your hand always presses the control to turn the heat up higher. What an awful iron. I'm returning it and getting something else. I just wanted a basic iron. What a nightmare!
This is the worst iron I have ever owned in my 70 years on this earth!!!!! It is big, bulky, heavy, does not heat up very hot.."STEAM MASTER"...REALLY??? The only time it will steam is when you are continually pushing the steam button. Too bad I throw away the box or it would be going back to Walmart....Instead, it's going in the garbage where it belongs!!!! I won't even give this piece of garbage to charity.
I have always thought Sunbeam to be a great and durable product, mine was anything but. Not only would I not recommend this to a friend, I would not recommend this to an enemy. I have had this iron less than a year and the cord (rotating cord) seems to continually cut off the iron (many beeps). I cannot get through one piece of clothing. This issue started about a month or so ago. My previous iron lasted a couple of decades. This one didn't even last a year. I went to the Sunbeam website but could not even find this iron.
Worst iron I ever purchased !! Design extremely poor, when you go to press the steam button, the fabric setting changes too. It also beeps..and that becomes very annoying..The sole plate grabbed the material in such a way that it actually made wrinkles...Steam button was difficult to push..I ironed 3 items with it and knew that I would not be able to do all my laundry with this iron..I let it cool, then packed it back up and returned it..!! Do yourself a favor and read the reviews first. Had I done that, I would have never purchased this iron...
This is the worst iron I've ever had. The digital heat setting is right where you hold the iron so it keeps changing the settings. Also, the iron shuts off when you are ironing back and forth. I must have read the wrong review before I purchased this and will be returning it for a different brand.
All the other negative reviews are right on. It leaks, doesn't produce much steam, settings are inconvenient and it takes up a lot of space. Disgraceful product.
bought this a month ago, barely used, only for special occasions.. doesn't heat up anymore.. stupid junk
