Purchased the FFBD1821MS model in December 2017. Dishwasher was packed very well for protection.This is my first dishwasher and needed a smaller unit for our kitchen remodel. Installation was simple and straight forward. The built in side brackets are an excellent idea for installation under countertops like granite/quartz where drilling into the countertop is not advisable. We use the dishwasher 3 to 4 times a week. All cycles and features work great so far. SS and painted finishes are a plus. I had read some critical reviews regarding the drying cycle but our dishes come out dry every cycle. We have had this dishwasher for 7 months and are amazed at how quiet it is. I sit next to it in our motorhome (which is why we bought the 18" size) and if we have a fan running, I don't hear it. We started having issues with glassware and silverware being cloudy a month ago. Even the inside walls became cloudy. We used a vinegar wash cycle to clean the walls. We tracked down the problem to the detergent pods (Cascade) we were using. We switched to FINISH detergent pods, use the High temp cycle and everything is coming out sparkling now. I bought this dishwasher to replace an 18" cabinet ad that was the only place we had room for one. We were a little nervous about an 18" dishwasher, but this one has plenty of room for myself, wife, and 6 month old with all his bottles. We have had the dishwasher for about 1 month now and it is great. We have a small kitchen and two small kids, so many dishes. Its small but you can fit quite alot if you learn to move things around. I suggest buying a infant size dishwasher rack for sippy cup tops and it even does food pouch clean up. It has been a life changer. The dishes come out very clean. It's a little bit difficult to leave a review when it's only gone through three cycles...but the package was delivered earlier than expected, it was in perfect condition, and since I have not had a dishwasher in seven years-I'm loving it! We had to remove a cabinet-so install took some finese, but went in fine and looks beautiful. I did give everything a quick rinse before placing in the dishwasher, and I used cascade premium tabs. It was quiet enough...and everything sparkled. I'm glad I bought this one!
I've had this dishwasher for about 2 months and bought it to replace another Frigidaire that last about 20 years. Compared to my old one, this one runs pretty quiet, holds more dishes, and cleans just as well using less than a couple of teaspoons of detergent to clean a load. The shortest cycle (Energy saver) only takes a hour to complete. Dishes come out nice and clean! Unfortunately it only comes with a one year warranty; hence the 4 stars instead of 5. We were looking for a compact dishwasher that combined features with values in a small package. The Frigidaire 18 inch looked good based on its feature list, customer reviews and reasonable price. I was especially pleased it has features often found on bigger and higher price dishwashers such as a stainless steel tub, dual sprayers and a strong heating element for drying. We’ve been very pleased with the results as our dishes have come out beautifully clean and sparkling. The noise level is also minimal. We are very pleased! I bought this dishwasher to replace an old one that was 12 years old, and I've had this one for a little over 4 months now. It has been horrible. From the first day I noticed an awful chemical/petroleum product smell that filled up my whole house. I thought maybe I needed to give it a few weeks to "off gas" and burn up any oil in the motor or whatever was causing the smell. But over 4 months later, the smell is as bad as when I first got it. After a couple of months, I noticed that the sealant on the grout on my tile floor in the kitchen looked like it was being eaten away, and dirt has started to stick to it in spots near the dishwasher. When I walk in my bare feet on the kitchen floor, there is a slight oily residue that causes the dirt to stick and the bottoms of my feet turn black. I have to scrub the grout with a heavy duty brush every few days to get the dirt that has accumulated off. Then, after all this, in the last month or so, the dishes have been coming out dirty, and with white residue on them. I have cleaned the filter and checked to make sure the spray arms weren't clogged, done cycles using dishwasher cleaner, and added rinse aid but nothing has changed. I am using the same detergent that I have used for years, and my previous dishwasher never had this issue. This dishwasher has caused so many problems for me. I'm extremely disappointed in this product and would never recommend it.
