I purchased this shelf for my son as a xmas present, and I was not happy with it. On installation, one of the shelves proved very hard in getting installed into one of the grooves, and I had to hammer it in softly and yet still after and hour of fighting wth it, it still did not go in properly and is wobbling in place, even though the screw has been tightly put in. The installtion of the screw into the wall for the shelf to secure onto, needs to be dead on with the angle of the shelf (this unit needs to be set at an angle or else the shelves will be laying at a sloping down angle) and you will find yourslef with problems placing things (toy cars) as they will all roll off. All and all I managed to find a corner spot in my sons room and ended up installing it there, but wont buy again for anyone.
We purchased this for our son's bedroom, as he is really into skateboarding. The look of this shelf is great and was what we were looking for with very easy assembly. However, the picture does not show that the bottom of the shelf sits on the floor and leans back against the wall, somewhat similar to a ladder shelf. This makes the unit unstable and rocks from side to side. If you place it up against the wall, the shelves are sloped to the front. My husband was able to modify it so that it no longer moves, but we would have preferred to have it flush against the wall, or be able to hang it on the wall, off the floor.
