overall this is a very nice kitchen. my only issue is putting it together was very tedious. the good thing is the little tikes customer service was very very good. they offer replacement parts free of charge as long as it under the 1 year warranty. my daughter and nieces really love it.
Overall this product is great. Putting it together took a while, but you have to expect that if you want the product to last. My niece is 2 and can't stop playing with it! Other kids at her party ranging to age 9 were playing with it so it seems to be a 7 year investment at least! The only downsides are the directions. They should have word descriptions as well as pictures. Also the stickers that go on the product to make it look real are very hard to line up and once you do they don't come off. Some stickers needed cutouts and didn't have them. I'm sure this is due to the product being massproduced. If you are willing to put in some time to put it together it is totally worth it. And don't settle on anywhere else to buy, but Walmart. Cheapest and free ship to your local store
My 3 year old granddaughter would make a beeline for the small play kitchen at preschool every day! I decided that for Christmas, she should have her own play kitchen. Christmas morning, I couldn't put it together fast enough because both granddaughters wanted to play with it! They kept offering to help and taking parts to "check them out." The directions were easy to use and made it fairly quick to put together. The only problem was there were no directions for where to put the stickers. Most were easy to figure out, but the thermometer didn't have a specific place. As soon as it was ready, both granddaughters pounced on it and played all day. They play with it all the time. I am so happy with this kitchen. It even has a "grill" on the "outside" next to the kitchen window. I purchased some extra stainless pots, pans and utensils which added even more creative outlets for them. Thank you for such a wonderful product!!
My 3 year old loves it. It wasn't too complicated for me to put together. The only thing (that wasn't a big deal for me) I didn't like about it was that the oven door and dish washer door wouldn't shut well, but my daughter didn't seem to care. Also, she likes to pick the flowers for me and the window is popular for being a drive through.
We are very pleased with this purchase overall. They left out half of the insructions when putting this together. We used the pic on the box for finishing. And Wal-mart should list this product site to store considering it's more expensive to buy. They charged me over $60.00 in shipping and I live in NWA!!!! I just couldn't find one in the store, and we have an aspiring chef on our hands! =) And dad liked that it had a grill.
Great product! Very realistic, and a big hit with the child it was purchased for. Assembly instructions were very understandable, and assembly was quite easy. Would definitely recommend power screwdriver for assembly.
This was a present for my 18-month old son. He really enjoys it so far. He likes the sounds that the grill and stovetop make, and loves opening and closing the various doors on the kitchen, as well as "organizing" the pantry with his play food, and "drinking" from the included cups and "eating" the included hamburger and hot dog. I do recommend purchasing additional play food and dishes, as this kitchen came with limited accessories. I thought the kitchen was a little hard to assemble, especially by myself (example--you have to get a hole started in the plastic to insert many of the screws, which I found to be difficult (translation--hammer hit thumb!)). I did need someone to help when putting the two main pieces together to provide more leverage and to keep the pieces secure and straight. The manufacturer does recommend that you fill the picnic bench seat with play sand, which I didn't realize until the end of the assembly instructions, and I had to buy that later. The overall look of the kitchen is very gender-neutral and attractive and has a good amount of storage space for play food and dishes. I also like that this kitchen has doors on the cabinets, as opposed to baskets, which I've noticed other manufacturer's cabinets have.
The only problem that I have with this kitchen is the the oven door and dishwasher door don not close very well. Other then that is so cute! It has so much for my little girl to do. She loves to wash dishes and play resturant through the window. She grills and cooks for hours!
I deliberated long and hard for my daughter's birthday about what kitchen to get her. This was in the running, along with 2 Step2 Kitchens. I normally prefer Step2, but the cuteness factor of this won out. I also liked the double-sided play feature. It is NOT well-constructed for the money it costs, not at all. And for that amount of money it should DEFINITELY have more features! All of the problems I am having now I had seen other reviewers on a popular toy site mention, and I wish I had taken those into consideration! The phone is cheap, does not make any noise, and does NOT stay on the "hook" provided. This was the worst design ever for a phone. I don't know what person thought up this for children, even my daughter's older playmates get frustrated that the phone will not stay in place. (There is a notch IN the phone that is supposed to stay on a slender hook on the side of the kitchen.) The oven and dishwasher doors are horrible. They make a very loud popping noise when you try to close or open them. In addition, most young children could not open or close them by themselves, it takes an adult. They also don't fit right, and it's frustrating to my daughter and to me. The coffee pot does not stay where it should, which frustrates my daughter when she tries to "put coffee away". The coffee pot within 3 weeks was showing signs of wear (meaning the liquid was drying up). The grill noise is problematic. We ended up just taking the batteries out of that side. There's virtually no storage space when you consider that the oven and dishwasher aren't usable for storage because the kids can't get them open by themselves. The "faucet" on the sink is pretty cheap, and ours I imagine will break here soon any day. We only have 1 child who doesn't even play with it every day. I could go on, but it boils down to the fact that there are so many small-ish things wrong with it, that when you add them all up it comes nowhere near being worth it's cost. Knowing what I know now, I don't know that I would even pay 1/2 of what I paid for it. Considering we're shelling out the money to buy her a new kitchen a mere matter of months after her birthday, I think I would bypass this kitchen all together.
This kitchen set costs much more than others on the market that are made much better! This was a gift for my child and I wish I could send it back. Everything feels flimsy and cheap on this kitchen, the doors are hard to open and close and feel like they could brake any minute. Also, there isn't any storage space since the inside of the oven, refrigerator and dishwasher are so shallow. The toy dishes and pots and pans we have won't even fit in there! I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
