After reading some of the bad reviews, I thought I would be returning it. But, if you use it correctly and follow the directions it works just fine. I have had it for about 3 weeks. Don't try to put staple through the shredder or more than 5 sheets of normal thickness of paper. Play by the rules and this shredder will work just fine!
The extension arm could be made of a sturdier material, or have extension on both ends so not so much strain on the extension. Does a good job for the money. Satisfied.
Bought this because I didn't want another waste basket since I have 3 previous. The instructions say shred for 1 minute let rest 15. If you have a lot to do you need a timer for 15 minutes with a 2 minute snooze. It is lighter than previous ones that we used to be able to work for longer times. One other thing to note is that the strips are 1/4 to 3/8" wide, easy for a puzzler to reconstruct. I was shocked to notice the difference in the size of the strips. Also the previous notes to use oil should be followed.
Compact and extends to fit old scanner trash bin. (Like) A little louder than expected, sounds like it packs a punch, does nothing extraordinary...:) Basically, gets the job done for a good price. It's not a cross shredder if looking for one, it shreds in strips. Not a bad buy...
Works well if not over loaded. Will stop if used for too long a period of time, and will need time to recover.
Does not work as well as I expected, but I am slightly handicapped and it is not convenient for me to return it. Cannot shred a single sheet and must have at least two or three sheets to shred and even then it does not always work.
Tried shredding a couple of items and suddenly it stopped working. I thought initially that it was simply too hot and needed to cool down. Waited about a hour and tried again, no luck. I would not recommend this product. The price is reasonable.
Very difficult to use. extreemlynarrow opening. continued to jam even when I used the # of pages allowed. jammed 3 times the first day, so I returned it.
Save yourself the time and trouble. Spend more for a decent shredder.
Just poorly designed. Jammed after 12 sheets of paper. I admit I made a mistake and tried to put 3 pages thru at one time.. And then reversed the feed. The spreader has very poor construction and the reversing broke the connections between the shrewder bars and the frame of the unit. Impossible to fix the broken plastic .. and I just threw the thing away. Get a heavy duty machine!
