this is such a nicely thought out toy. I love the ability to download and print more activity sheets if something should happen to the originals. The ability to play on the computer is so great. Our 5 yr old is having a ball and is mastering some great computer skills in the process. This is a wonderful gift and a fantastic buy. Way to go.........! This was a Christmas gift for my grandaughter
My grandsons (4 & 3) were actually fighting over who got to play this. They really perked up when they realized we could hook it up to the computer and print out more pages! We just purchased this about a week ago and I think the kids are going to get alot of use from this system.
This is not the first Vtech product that we have purchased and won't be our last. This is a great gift and you don't need the extra cartridges for the system. It's great fun! The price was the best that I could find also.
I bought this product for my 3 year old great nephew... he loves it and is learning more and more everytime he sits at the computer.. I really like this and don't mind him playing with it allday. It is also very durable.
My daughter loves this game. She likes it best when connected to my computer. She would play this half the day if I would let her!! My daughter is 3 years old.
My son got this as a gift and both my boys (2 and 4) love to play with it. We recently purchased the Bob the Builder one and they love it even more. My only issue with this product is that there is a constant background music going that seems to hinder my older son's concentration when working. He still loves to play on it though. Haven't had the chance to hook it up to our computer yet, I'm sure that will make it even more exciting for them!
My daughter was testing it in the store and it was great Got hers for Christmas. I love it because she can use it in the car. It is very easy to understand.
My son got this for his 4th b-day. He loves using the the Whizkid. He is able to use it with our computer or on his own. We will be taking it on a roadtrip for Thanksgiving in the car. He stays busy and interested. Many many activities. The one thing we aren't too happy about is that each activity is on these pieces of plastic coded paper. If your child doesn't take care of his things, this is not the computer to get. You can crush the papers like any other paper. There is a pocket in the back of the computer to hold these papers but if they are loose, they can make a mess. I have a 9 month old and if she gets to them, she could destroy them as quick as a newspaper. Overall, the product is a good buy. Price is reasonable for what you get.
I bought this particular product for my son so he could have an educational game to play when his other options (TV and Computer) are in use by someoneelse in the house and we love it! Before whenever he was home from school some one in the house would be bored, usually me or his Grandpa, because his other games either take up the T.V or the Computer, now he can play with his WhizKid while waiting for Grandpa's movie to end, or for me to finish using the computer. Not to mention I can also download damaged sheets on the computer and print them out. Also, if he gets bored with the pages he already has I can get additional downloads that he can play while I'm at work (not using the computer).
To be honest, I cannot give a good or bad review, because we have been unable to connect this game to the computer. It works with the board hooked up the USB port, but it will not come up on the computer. We keep getting an error message saying that the computer does not meet the requirements for the game, but in the owners manual all the things listed we have. We contacted Vtech, and they told us to download Direct X to be able to work the game. We did that and it still does not work. So, we are stuck.
