The quality of the videos and pictures are amazing, and it is very easy to fly. The flight range is also incredible. you have to use the screen to fly it because it is fast and can get further than the eye can see very quickly if you are not careful. Fun Fun Fun.
Received this drone for Christmas and am very happy with the features included in this model. Remote gimbal control of the camera as well as a number of preprogrammed flight options allow for a full range of flying from simple beginner mode to more sophisticated "follow me" and preplanned waypoint mode. DJI app for your cell allows full monitoring and control of all aspects of flight as well as camera adjustments and recording. You could be paying much more to have all these features including 20+ minute flight time.
I was looking around for a good drone to play around with as a starter drone bought another brand rimes with carrott anyways piece of junk sent it back bought phantom 3 standard love it flys great great videos wish I bought this first
we got this because it has a beginner mode. Great for learning to use it and when you are comfortable with that you can upgrade to more distance and more advanced features. Love the way it warns you when it is getting out of range and that it has a return home feature. The pictures are great. Easy to operate and fun to use.
My grandson hasn't had an opportunity to see this Christmas gift yet. It's Christmas Eve and Santa is still 'en-route'. But I can say that my son and I looked this drone over thoroughly last night and he was extremely satisfied. It's well-built, appears to be very study, has extra propellers (just in case), great camera, and just looks...amazing! My grandson has wanted a drone for 2 years. Tomorrow morning he's going to be ECSTATIC! My son did a thorough research on starter drones, and this one looked to be the best for the money. From the looks of it, we are not going to be disappointed.
While DJI is known for their horrible customer service, they do make one heck of a drone. The Dji P3 Standard performs great. Easy to setup and fly As long as you follow all pre-flight checks and get well informed on the operation of this quad. I have about 10 flights in, without any issues. Make sure after every Firmware update, that you calibrate your IMU, calibrate your gimbal, calibrate controller and re-due compass calibration for your location. Those of you that don't want to spend the money on the advanced or pro version will be pleased with the P3 Standard. You can't beat the value for the price.
I bought this for amateur photography and to use it for Surf fishing. I highly recommend you watch all the Videos from DJI, also other YouTube videos showing unboxing, assembly, operation, calibration, and flying. take your time and it will be a great experience. The video and photos are very good (as expected with this model drone). Payload, it can easily take over 2 ponds, so using this drone to take the bait out past the breakers will be a breeze.
I just love this Drone, it is the best drone for the price bar none! It does everything that DJI said it would do. Follow me, Way points, Point of interest and so on. I would say just make sure you read all the supplied instructions and watch DJI videos along with YouTube videos before talking to the sky. If anyone does that along with making sure they understand the controller, it will be very hard to go wrong. I have flown mine several times with no problems. If you want to step up from Syma X5 & X8 style drones to brushless motors, first person video, 12meg 2.7k camera with full GPS, this is your Baby. The only thing better in my book would be one of DJI other pro level drones, but if money is the issue, you will be totally happy with the Standard for sure. I am so glad that I didn't buy something else. I made the right choice, which means a lot since money is hard to come by now days. Might also mention all the upgrades one can get to. The Sky is the limit!
When I decided I wanted this quadcopter, I went to WalMart nearby to see if they had it. They did, but it was listed at $499. I was told I needed to order it online to get the $427 price. Felt odd, but I went back home and ordered it so that I could pick it up back at the local WalMart. After waiting for an email saying it was ready, I drove back to the store and picked it up. Piece of cake. The money I saved more than made up for the drive back and forth. The only thing about the unboxing was that the camera was flopping around on the gimbal because the camera guard was not secured. All the weight of the guard and the lens cap were hanging by the gimbal and flapping around inside the box. Fortunately, everything worked great and I have a couple flights in already.
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my teenage son last year and he really enjoyed it for about 9 months. Then, after about 20 flights, he turned it on and got a message on the app that one of the battery cells was bad and to contact DJI support. I went online and filed a claim to repair the battery. They sent me a mailer and had me send it back. About a week later, I got an invoice for $162.00 to "repair" the battery. A brand new battery costs $140, so I don't know where they got $160 from. I called DJI and they said that the battery was only warranted for 6 months. I explained that the battery had been well cared for and that it only had about 20 cycles on it. They basically said too bad. I looked this up online and this is apparently a well known issue. I'll buy another battery to keep the thing flying, but I would not buy another DJI product.
