I received this product in the mail and couldn't wait to try it. OMG the heat was just what my hair needed for my deep conditioning. I am very pleased with this product and give it two thumbs up! Now, it does make a lot of noise, but the noise puts me to sleep (lol). Other places are charging the full retail price for this product, so I was very blessed and please to find it online at this price and save a few bucks!
I liked the dryer but my granddaughter thought it was a little old fashioned. Its perfect for the older generation who know what a blowdryer with a bonnet is. But my granddaughter wasnt too keen on the idea that you had to sit under a dryer, especially since they have blowdryers with attachments that you can walk around with.
This dryer is specifically for people with thick hair. I read the reviews prior to purchasing it, they spoke of how hot the highest setting is. I am African American with very thick, fine hair. The analogy I use is "like a wet cotton ball." This dryer got my hair completely dry even braided and rolled. If you have fine straight hair, this dryer is more than you need. But if you have had trouble getting your hair completely dry (in rollers or braids); this is the hair dryer you want to invest in. It's compact, light weight; the bonnet is large enough for rollers and tightens wtih a draw string; the hose could be longer but that's a minor inconvenience. I love it.
I bought this hair dryer to do extensive hair treatments after a bad perm. This dryer works great. My only complaint is the bonnet part is hard to put back in the compartment. On the good side, the dryer works great with 3 settings to choose from, the attachment to the bonnet goes back in the compartment with ease, the bonnet adjust to your head size and the electrical cord fits easily back into the compartment. The dryer is slim and takes up minimal room when stored. I would highly recommend this dryer.
It's great!....Completely, dries the entire head....Hair and scalp was dryed in an hour!.....Well, worth the money!....The only thing, the dryer does get really HOT, but the heat can be adjusted to low or cool.......I love it!!!!!
This product is great at drying my hair faster than any other hard or soft bonnet dryer I've used before. The curls come out much better. Normally, my hair stays separated into the different curls even after I've combed it out, but with this dryer, they blend and look much better like it should. They last longer too. (I don't normally use styling products other than moisturizers on my hair.) The dryer does get really hot, but I think it's because it dries quicker. I just move my cap around to the opposite side about half way through. I definitely like this product better than all the other dryers I've ever had! I also like that it has a 2 year warranty instead of a year like most dryers.
Recently purchased this hair dryer and never seen one so HOT! Must admit it gets the job done, but I found myself constantly adjusting the temperature. Althouh, I do recommend it if you have thick hair. I'm african american and it really did the job for me!
I used this hair dryer for the first time today and all I kept thinking is "they don't make them like they used to." The ring on the bonnet is flimsy and I can see this thing coming apart, which will require an additonal expense to purchase a new one. My main gripe is that this dryer gets way too hot, even on low. The setting after that is cool, but that's not warm enough. There's no happy medium with this dryer. Don't they have people checking the temperature on these things? The only reason I am recommending this dryer is because all the others are about the same, or worse. If you need a dryer, you might as well get this one. Only time will tell if it will last.
When you read the fine print this is a Helen of Troy product. The hair dryer gets very hot so the medium setting is the most I can tolerate. It has done a sufficient job during conditioning treatments and roller sets. I was please with the product overall.
The only negative is the hose is located on one side of the bonnet. This causes one side of your hair to dry much faster than the other. The heat is very intense on the hose side. It would better if the hose was located on the back of the bonnet.
