This product met my expectations as to what an epilator does. I prepared myself for the stinging pain inflicted by first time use by having a cold compress at hand. It almost takes the same amount of time to use as shaving but as to be expected the smooth skin does last quite a bit longer. The price paid almost seems not worth it--seeing as you don't have to use it as often as you would a razor. But in retrospect, the price paid for fancy razor blades over the months, it quite does make up for that fact and redeems itself. It does take some getting used to however. So be prepared to use it more than once! To fully appreciate the benefits, one must use it more than the first painful time. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say it's around a 3. Great product for what it does.
I am so glad that I did my research before I bought one. This product is exactly what I was hoping it would be. This is soooo much easier than waxing and not nearly as painful. It wasn't painful at first, it was more of a shock. Once I realized it wasn't going to hurt me, I fell in love with it. If you want long lasting results and less pain, this is the product your looking for. Yes it is kind of a shock at first but it doesn't take very long to get over. It's soooo worth it.
When you are buying this type of product you truly get what you pay for. This thing works and its fast. If you try a cheaper model you will be disappointed and return it. For the extra $10.00 in gasoline that you will use returning it plus the aggravation of trying to fit the one that doesnt work back in to the blister pack that you destroy when you open it, just pay the extra money up front and get the one that works.
I loved my epilator when it stopped working but it was no longer being made. I bought another brand name but it did not work very well. I did my research and bought this one because of so many positive reviews. The Conair with the duel head works great and with minimal discomfort. It is easy to clean and fits very comfortly in the hand. If you're looking for a great epilator, this is the one to own!
I bought this because I loathe shaving. I was looking for a product to have the similar effect of waxing. My only complaint is that I have to stay near an outlet, but if you plop down in front of the tv and watch something, it's not bad. It stung the first time I used it, but you get use to it. It's great cause you don't have to use it all the time, only to touch up on hairs you find you've missed. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT AND WOULD TOTALLY RECOMMEND IT.
Fortunately, the first epilator I bought was great, because when it wore out, it was no longer available. The three that I've bought since, before this one, were a waste of money. If the first one hadn't worked well, I'd have stopped looking. This one works even better than the first, probably because of the dual rollers in the head. It's faster and easier to hold, too. The extra shaver head makes it a great value, with extra flexibility. The only thing it doesn't have that I would put on my wish list is a rechargeable battery. This is corded only. I really need to be able to take it away from a power source.
I have been using the Conair Epilator for about a month now. The experience has been so far so good. It does remove hair from the roots provided you use it in the opposite direction of hair growth. But I have had to use it more often than I would with Waxing. But its not bad because I get to remove hair which are less than half an inch and I always have the clean shaven look. Waxing in underarms used to be a painful process but it just got a lot easier with this Epilator. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone who can spend 5 minutes after bath once or twice a week. Its worth every penny.
Since hair grows in stages, you may not get all the hair off the first day, but eventually it may all get done. Read all the directions as far as how to hold it, how long the hair should be, and which direction to use. Sister went all over the place and ended up with a ton of ingrown hairs. So far so good for the one I got, though. Even if legs aren't silky smooth as promised, at least you can't SEE any hairs.
This will get rid of visible hairs but a lot of them broke off & I had to go over my legs again after they grew back, so it didn't make my legs "silky smooth". Also took me several passes over my legs to get all the hair out, even though I followed the directions. I think I'll keep my razors handy.
This product is completely painful, and I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. I had a child naturally (not by choice) and this product ranks right up there with natural chilbirth! I tried several times and still can't do it. It doesn't rip out the hairs on your first try, you have to go over the area several times. I am returning it.
