If you've spent any time searching for a replacement AC adapter for your Dell, you find many such products on Amazon with mixed reviews or reports of unethical behavior (buying 5 star reviews) for off-brand products. While this one is also made in China, it does have the Dell brand and does seem to be of a higher quality than the off brand stuff you can buy for $15 on Amazon. I'd say it's worth the extra $15.
After hearing horror stories of knock off power adapters I decided to purchase the real deal. Well it proved the right choice. Absolutely zero issues w/the Dell product from the phone call to place the order, to delivery, to functioning once attached. Minor overall is it does not have a valcro strap to tie the adapter up for storage. Nothing a rubber band can't handle on my part. If you want your Dell product to run right then stay w/Dell accessories.

My original cord finally wore out. This replacement far exceeds my expectations. It is much less bulk to drag around. I find the LED mesmerizing sometimes. The length is perfect for me to use in my home. I can plug it behind my sofa and sit at the far end without the cord being annoying. I am very glad that the Dell associate suggested this product. I do not regret this purchase.
This is the same "factory" unit that Dell sells for about $70, not a knock-off or a "compatible" power adapter. The Walmart price is less than half of what Dell charges for the same item, and I got it the same day through "ship to store" service. It works the same as the original adapter that came with my Dell laptop. The only differences I can tell are (1) the new adapter has a grounded three-prong plug (2) the pilot light is on the connector where it plugs into the computer instead of on the adapter case, and (3) the new adapter is thinner than the original one.

I had to replace my original cord Dell 65 watt ac adapter because it wasn't working. I purchased a universal adapter for $50.00 a 65 watt which is compatible with Dell. The cord kept coming unplugged and I had a real problem with that. I thought I needed a new battery because it would not charge. After I bought the Dell 90 Watt Inspiron adapter, my battery started to recharge and I didn't need a new battery after all. I had already ordered a new battery but will keep it for future use because I use my laptop a lot. The Dell 90 Watt Inspiron adapter was a excellent price and I am very satisfied and the cord does not come unplugged like the universal cord. I highly recommend this product.
My family and I have 4 Dell Inspiron laptops between us and the AC adapters for all of them have given out or were ruined in some way over time (dogs, vacuum cleaners, really dumb stuff, but mostly, they just stopped working). Prices for these range up to $65 or so, which is pretty silly. This one was less than half the cost, and it worked on both mine and my daughter's machine. It's still working after a few weeks - I know that sounds strange, but my experience with Dell's adapters has obviously not been good. So far, so good. My advice is to order this from Walmart online for store pickup, as we discovered it was not on the store shelf - must have been "in the back."
It arrived earlier than I thought it would that is always a plus. Its connected to both outlets and my computer is no longer saying "do not recognize a/c adaptertype". My computer had this message for a while and a technician was problem solving with me and determined it was not the battery for Dell computers. When I go to the icon that checks the battery life of the computer it either says its charging or fully charged. So everything is working like its supposed to. Everything works, I saved about 50- 60 bucks if I have chosen to buy from Dell directly. When my computer and internet are working I'm happy as a clam.
Was going to purchase this in store but it was over twice the online price and apparently they don't price match their own stuff. Was surprised how quickly it got here with standard shipping. Works as it should.
