Item is exactly as described, was easy to install fast connection and gets good signal and it's pretty far away from router. So far so good I have tried others in the past and have even tried installed versions that isn't as good as this little unit.
Works great! Just follow the easy directions and you'll have wireless internet in minutes! My mother had an old computer that she brought when she moved in for the summer. The only option we thought was to use a long Ethernet cord but we found this little thingy! Plugged it in the USB port on her computer and within minutes her computer accessed my wifi and she was good to go! Definitely worth the price and functionality.
works great, well pleased, but the dichotomy is that it's purpose is to enable wireless connection and in order to install, you must have wireless connection! so another device with wireless connection plus purchasing a flash drive are necessary for installlation.
plug and play doesn't work. you need the internet to install it, which defeats the purpose of putting it on a computer without a functioning wireless card. but once you find the drivers on their website, load it onto a USB, then manually install it, it works fine. not on Linux mind you. if you have Linux get something else.
Reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because I didn't get it for pick-up in store. Was in stock 2 hours later not in stock at this store. Did send it and got it the next day. The Adapter worked perfect. Had the CD in it which I needed because of no internet on my desktop. Instructions were easy to follow.
Doesn't come with a disc like the last one I bought so you ha e to figure out how to get online and download the program from the website before you can use this
It works fine. I got it because the built in wi-fi stopped working while on vacation. The only problem is that for it to work to connect you to the internet, you have to download something from the internet.... I was able to make it work by downloading the drivers to my phone and installing from there, but I would be SOL if I didn't have another device that could already get online.
you have to download software to use it... so if you have absolutely no wifi and no way to get internet for just like a second this will not work, you're better off using an ethernet cable.
I bought it for my desktop that I bought online and it said plug in and connect. But guess what you need a driver for it, I'm like seriously then it should come with a cd disc or a drive on the usb. They expect you to connect to the internet to get a driver to connect to the internet how crazy. Unless you have an Ethernet cable to download the driver then you are out of luck. I have to return it cause guess what I don't have an Ethernet cable to use to install a driver for it. I'm paying $45 for it and it says plug in and connect and I worked with it for over an hour and nothing. For $45 I can go on Amazon and find one cheaper and has a cd drive with it. Which you guessed it I did the first thing I did was plug it in to see if it needed the cd and you wouldn't believe it it didn't require the cd drive to install and connected instantly without any hesitation and I only paid less then $10 for it
You have to download the software from the internet before it will work. So if you don't already have a way to connect, it's useless. But if you do, why would you need this??
