I bought this birdbath for my Mother and she absolutely loved it. It is well built, has a heavy base so it is sturdy, and is very nice for the price. I'm glad I chose this one!!!
Like many reviews before, it is a very sturdy birdbath. We have winds that get to 40+ very often and it stands right where it's suppose to. Unlike other reviews, I had no problems putting it together as long as I made sure the holes were lined up. I have learned you never tighten one down until u have them all in place. I had purchased a solar "fountain" last year and have put it in the birdbath. The only drawback there is the birdbath is not deep enough if the wind is blowing (it's kansas, it blows alot) but with just a little wind the fountain works great. And it is a bargain for the price....I was in walmart shortly after I purchased this and saw a birdbath for $47 and was a little upset until I checked it out and found it was one of those solid styrofoam ones that would have been gone in a day here!
Living along the South Texas Coast, we have our share of very windy days. I've had this bird bath about a month and it has yet to topple over, nor do I expect it to. I was pleasantly surprised by the sturdiness of this bird bath. And the birds absolutely LOVE it!
I was surprised at what a sturdy bird bath this is, definatley not cheaply built. No need to worry about the wind knocking this one over. Very nice product for the money.
My Mom passed away suddenly in 2007. She loved Angels and birds. I decided I would build the dream garden she would have loved for herself and this item is a perfect addition to "her" garden. Super fast and easy on-line ordering, low shipping cost and 3 day delivery right to my front door! Perfect size and bronze color, very heavy and sturdy, gorgeous ornate detailing from top to bottom, easy to assemble, unbelievably low price for the quality. I hesitated on the purchase initially because of the low price, (felt it would not meet my expectations), but am so glad I did. I simply couldn't be happier with this purchase. Every time I look at the lovely angel perched on the top, I think about Mom and how much she loves it as well....
The bird bath looks great in our garden and the birds are enjoying it. It was well represented on the web site. The only negative was the assembly of it. It took my son and I over an hour to get it together. Some of the holes would not align and one of the screws would not go into the base due to the hole being driven too close to the stand. We are hoping that it stays together, minus that screw and bolt!
I only just got it in the mail today but it was super easy to put together with a screwdriver. I think that it is heavy enough to withstand the weather but I don't know for sure yet. It is sort of on the small side. But overall, it's worth what I paid for it and it's cute.
The bird bath is okay, just. The bath requires some assembly, and that would not have been bad, but the pre-tapped holes for the bolts did NOT line up evenly with the other parts. Also, the holes were poorly tapped and were it not for my own set of taps would have been impossible to put together. A five minute job took fifty. It does look nice, and the finches & blue birds love it.
Heavy! So it shouldn't fall over easily. Should hold up to strong winds. A little hard to put together but don't be too concerned. I think it was more operator error than a problem with the birdbath. It helps to read the directions FIRST. After I read the directions, no problem. Very attractive!
The bird bath is much prettier than the photo gives it credit. The picture doesn't show this but, the basin is nice and deep and has lilly pads molded into it and the detail of the whole birdbath, angel, stand ,and base is very nice. My disappointment comes from the fact that the pre-drilled holes in which to attach the base to the center support did not match up, therefore, the bolts did not line up. I was only able to attach the base to the post with 3 of the 4 bolts. Also, the bolts to attach the basin to the post are so close to the post that when you put the nuts on, you cannot use a ratchet to tighten them down; a crescent wrench might work. Other than that it is a very sturdy birdbath. It gets very windy at my house and the bath stands up to the winds. It is a very nice piece, I would buy it again.
