I bought this item for my 16 year old son as he is the one who keeps the yard work complete. He picked this item as it would make his duties more simple with the capability of attaching 14 additional work-pieces. I have already ordered 2 additional attachments. He loves it and the yard looks better than it did last summer; as it is an all-in-tool. Great product! Sturdy and easy to use.

This was delivered to the store as promised and was in excellent condition. I brought it home, read the instructions, put it together, put fuel in it , followed the starting procedure and it started and run perfectly. This product can and will be my friend a long time. I have an acre to take care of and have many trees to trim around. I strongly recommend this product to anyone.

No major complaints with this trimmer. I bought it to replace a 24 year-old Mcculloch that finally gave up the ghost. The price was excellent, $10 less than what I paid for the Mcculloch. It starts very easily and changing the strings could not be simpler. The only con - if you are tall like me (6'2') then it will get to your back after using it for a while. We have 3/4 of an acre to mow and trim with lots of flower beds that need to be trimmed around. If the trimmer were a little longer it would not be an issue at all. That said, I am very pleased overall.

A little awkward to hold, but working on it...

Seems to be powerful enough. Not hard to start or keep running. Not at all. Still working with the adjustable handle position to get it to feel right as I hold it and operate it. Seems short. I am 5'11" and it seems like it was built for someone shorter. Like I said, still working on getting that right. Burned up the line waaay too fast first time I used it, but again, I have only just begun to use it, so maybe that will work out as I get a handle on its quirks. Just a good, inexpensive, simple to use trimmer. Recommended as Good.

Murray 14" Gas String Trimmer

Unlike some others, I have had no problems with this trimmer as yet. I have used it several times in the last two weeks and each time it has started on first pull after using and first thru third pull cold start. The fuel is 100% gas with the oil mix so it has no ethanol in it. The only thing I wish were different is larger string but this one does use .095 rather than .080. Also I do like the no bump, no auto feed head that uses a single string inserted by hand. The trimmer will gather some grass around the shaft at times but every trimmer I have ever had did so also and at least this one is easy to remove the grass from. It seems to have plenty of power and will take out tall tough Johnson Grass and weeds up to about 3/8" in diameter. It is not a commercial grade trimmer but it also is not priced like one. This one has the ability to add other attachments to it if you wanted to. The manual claims a two year warranty but I have had no problems with it so I know nothing about dealing with Murray and warranty concerns. Walmart offers a two year care plan for 8 bucks if interested. I have never made a claim on one of those plans either. So far I have been satisfied and had good luck with this trimmer, I hope you do too if you purchase one.

Purchased this because my poulan pro p333 was unstartable. The Murray was delivered quickly and with minimal assembly I was trimming all the tall weeds and grass in my yard. I bought this particular trimmer because it is capable of taking the attachments that I already have for the Poulan Pro. Although they fit, the Murray's 25cc engine was too underpowered to handle the brush cutter or the straight shaft trimmer head that the 33cc Poulan Pro used (when the darn thing used to start) I didn't try the tiller or pole saw attachments, but the murray probably would not adequately power those either. Overall, a good light duty unit, it starts quickly and is very light to handle. I wish Murray made one with a larger engine.

I have always been a Craftsman guy. I have only bought them until this purchase. All the "major" brands are getting crazy with their prices. This Murray trimmer has the same power as my old craftsman and it fits all my attchments(blower, edger, tiller). The only thing I don't like so far,I only have used it 3 times, is that whenever you stop it, you have to go through all the starting procedures which are 2 different chokes before its fully "on". Other than that, it's been great

Good trimmer for a tall, strong person

I had previously used electric trimmers (they are much lighter) and about every two years, the switch would burn out. I bought this particular trimmer because of the 'attachment capable' feature, since my electric blower is very old and I will be replacing it soon. As much as I would like to keep it, it is way too heavy for me to use - like carrying around a bowling ball (I have about an hour and 1/2 worth of trimming). For me, it is not very balanced and is very awkward to use - I'm a 50+ woman under 5'4" tall. I cannot possibly trim my whole yard at once - I can only do small sections at a time on different days. My back, shoulder, and arm pays the price! I wish I could return it, but after you use it once, it has that grass residue all over it. I guess every life lesson has its price, this one cost me about $98 total.

While I've only had occasion to use this once, I found the initial assembly very easy. It took only a few minutes from box to finished. I filled the tank, and the engine fired up very readily. If it continues to work as well, it'll the best I've had. I especially like the rotating trimmer head. It makes edging faster and more uniform.
