I like this very much. A good product
This is working just great for me. It has good range on the transmitted signal and the 5 memories are wonderful for my own "year to date" numbers. (day-week-month-mem1-mem2) I was a little confused by all the bad ratings, but I guess if things work well, you don't normally look for a place to say that... s.a.d
Purchased this itema as a gift then bought one for myself. Set up was very easy and straight forward. It rained like mad the next day (3.04 ")and the gauge worked perfect. I'm very pleased with the purchase. and the price. Purchased on line and picked up at store a few hours later.
Easy to setup. Checked the calibration using a measuring cup and gauge was spot on. Had our first rain while I was out of town and gauge reported 0.16"
Takes 2AA batteries for the indoor part of this 2-part gauge, and 2AA batteries for the outdoor collection (self-emptying) container. Keeps a history of daily rains, has alarms for 1) heavy rain and 2) flood altet. Very accurate, down to the hundreth's of an inch. I am very pleased with this and would reccommend it to family and friends.
Great companion to the AcuRite digital indoor-outdoor wireless thermometer I've had in use bedside for a couple of years. Not available at our so-called SuperCenter in AR but, once again, found and purchased direct via the WalMart web pages.
don't know how accurate it is but I'm not a meteorologist so it doesn't need to be. Just wanted a general idea of how much rain we have gotten without having to go outside to empty it. Can't beat the the price. Ignore the bad reviews, I did and was not sorry.
This was a gift for my mother and they had this to say: It was easy to set up and begin using. Wish it monitored snowfall. Wish it had temperature readout. Parents are never pleased. Their previous rain gauge was a plastic test-tube style rain gauge. Welcome to the modern era...
Unfortunately I've found that any weather instrument manufactured by Chaney Instruments is a total waste of money. Sold as AcuRite these gauges look nice but consistently fail to perform for more than a few months, if that. And the customer service will only send "troubleshooting" instructions that are already listed in the manual as a reply - then the next step is to waste even more money so you can ship the item back to their quality assurance for "inspection & testing". If their quality assurance was reliable then I wouldn't have the product problems to begin with. Of course this is my own personal opinion, but if you choose to buy their products, then all I can say is "Sorry".
AcuRite products are a waste of time and money. I bought the AcuRite wireless rain gauge (model #00875W) from Wal Mart and it would not register any rain. I returned this model and purchased a different AcuRite wireless rain gauge (model #00891A1) from Home Depot. This model wouldn't allow the base unit to connect to the rain bucket sensor. This too was returned. After all this I checked with AcuRite's web page and found page after page of complaints for these and other similar issues with their products. I'll never waste my time or money on an AcuRite product again. I previously had a LaCrosse Technology (The Weather Channel) wireless rain gauge that worked fine for over five years. I sure wish Wal Mart would start selling those again!
