I am an adult. When the adult version went out of stock, i was desperate. So i purchased the kid water flosser. I am pregnant and flossing my teeth (which are very close together) was painful and a mess (blood everywhere). I've been using it a little past the 1st level. it cleans great.
This was purchased for an 8 year old with new braces. It is easy to use, does a great job of cleaning around and under those pesky braces and has actually made teeth cleaning a fun experience for her. She has been using it for about 2 weeks now and really likes this waterpik.
My kids (7 & 11) actually use this water flosser. We've only had it for three months now, so we will have to see if their next dental checkup shows improvement in their gum health. But it is easy to use and only takes them a minute do. The only con is that it is a little messy - splatters on the mirror, but their beautiful smiles more than make up for that!
I bought this product after reading reviews that kids liked using it. My 6 yr old grandson always tries to get out of brushing his teeth and complains that he hates it! First thing when I presented him with the waterpik, he was so excited about his new toy and thanked me for it. Then proceeded to use it on his teeth and I had to finally tell him that is enough to get him to stop. Now when I tell him to brush his teeth, there is no complaint and most of the time he does it without being told! THIS ROCKS!
My dentist recommend me to get the water pick ( any style will work he said) as I have sensitive gums. I do floss and it just didn't get my teeth and gums cleaned enough. I got the kids model style as I don't need all those tips that came with in other models. The reason I gave it 3 stars as it does make a lot of noise if you have it on 2 and the hose shakes if on high pressure. On level 1 is strong enough for my gums. You'll need to lean over the sink while use it as it does get water all over your arm and countertop. You'll need to keep your mouth close while use it to avoid the spraying. Glad I purchased it. I can't wait to hear what my dentist has to say at my next visit. Do your homework on it before you purchase one. There is one model that has 6 tips as you don't need all of them if you're buying it for yourself. If you're buying one for the whole family, it may work for you. Read all the reviews before you decide on which model to get.
We bought this model of Waterpik for our 8-year-old daughter when she got her braces in December of 2015, and it is perfect!! She has never been a big fan of flossing but this has changed everything! She loves the stickers and the fact that she can change them up, but she especially loves using the Waterpik! I will admit that the first time using these is difficult and I tried to help her. Long story short we were drenched and the whole bathroom was splattered! But I then told her it was up to her and she has done great! I even checked with her dentist on her last visit and they could already see an improvement in her gums! Definitely recommended for younger children, but also great for the whole family! We all love it!!
I love this for my kids. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the on/off switch is on the base of the machine and not the handle. It's ok for my older kids, but my youngest has to pull it out of her mouth before she turns it off, shooting water everywhere. Keep in mind she's only 3. Other than that, it's great for kids who have difficulty flossing. It's definitely worth the money.
My son had a spacer put in behind his lower teeth. We were worried how this woukd impact his flossing in that area so we picked up this waterpik. This kids version is slightly different than the adult version as it only has 3 settings. That makes thing easy and the highest setting is very tolerable for an 8 year old. My only complaint is this model lacks the water "cut-off" switch that is in the adult model. That would be helpful to be able to pause the cleaning process mid-tank. Otherwise, a very good tool for kids who have trouble flossing orhave dental appliances.
We purchased this waterpik for our 10 year old son. Who lets face it-like alot of children do not get excited at the idea of daily flossing. Not only were the instructions clear and very easy to understand but it is so user friendly that using the waterpik has become a part of our sons daily brushing routine.
I got this for my 5 year old and she likes it but if she dont turn it off in her mouth she will spray the whole bathroom lol! I have to say she never liked flossing until now. She makes a mess but Im sure she will get the hang of it as she gets older.
