we are expecting are second in oct and so we decided to try out this monitor with are two year old befor the baby gets here and we love it thinking about getting a second one so i can keep the one up in our 2yr room . the night vision is great for the price a nice piece of mind wish i could of got it when my daughter was infant would of saved alot of trips to her room to see if shes okay ... attached is a picture of the video on our tv 42in. still clear!
We have been using this monitor since Jul 2008 (16 months). Pros: 1. Really long battery life. I will have this unplugged all day, and it still goes strong. Lives up to the promise of 10 hours of battery life. 2. Easy to charge. Just plug it in at night. No problems with the charger or plug in area. 3. Video. Large enough screen. Light color during the day. Black/white at night. Can see even if room is pitch dark! Love it! 4. Video on/off button. This button allows you to turn on the video with a touch of a button. 5. Automatic video shut off after 3 min. when not plugged in. This saves battery life allowing not to have to plug in monitor as frequently. 6. Portability. This monitor is easy to carry around. It also has a durable clip to fasten to yourself. 7. Stands up on the dresser. Has a clip that allows it to stand up for easy viewing. 8. Clear sound/ no static. Very clear sound and no static. We have wireless internet and cell phones. We haven't had any problems. 9. Range. We have a 2000 sq ft home. We can get perfect reception throughout. I can also get some reception in our front and back yard (but not beyond- great security). However, if you are really close to your neighbor (apartments,etc), they may also be able to pick up the reception if they have the same monitor. This has never been an issue for us. 10. Durablitly. Works as well as the day we got it. I have dropped this numerous times. It takes a beating and keeps working. 11. A/V output and headphone output available. 12. Can purchase an extra camera so that you can use the monitor to view more than one room. Cons: 1. Privacy. Since this only has 2 channels, if you are in an area (like apartments) where someone has the same monitor, it is possible that you may see their baby on the monitor (or for them to see yours). This was never an issue for us. We are so impressed with this monitor that we will be buying another one for our baby on the way. We still need the one we have to monitor our son. If you purchase this, you won't be sorry!
I bought seven (yes, a little obsessive) monitors from wal mart site to store. I wanted to be sure the monitor we had was the best one for us. This monitor has a great picture and no static. I like that the volume has a dial on the side so I can really adjust the volume. The summer infant monitor that shows the room temp (not an accurate temp by the way) was also has a great picture. I decided to keep this one only b/c of the volume control. There is a much wider spectrum of sound with this one.
We have a 6 month old and use this monitor at home and on trips to see family. Very easy to set-up at home and on the road. I already thought this was a great monitor, but the customer service that I just experienced pushed the rating over the top. I placed a call to the company via their web site and was about to order a new battery when I asked how long the battery life was supposed to be and found out that the battery is supposed to last 12-18 months. When I told the agent that the monitor was a gift at a baby shower and we had no receipt, he just asked for the product code on the hand held monitor(tells the date of manufacture). Apparently the date of manufacture was less than 12 months ago. All the agent said was 'looks like you're getting a free battery', which should arrive within 5 days or so. If I had not made the call, and asked the simple question the battery would have cost about $20.
I LOVE this monitor. I can hear and see my boy breathing. Slight static here and there but can be worked through and positioned accordingly. Don't know how I would live without it!!!!
We've had this monitor for almost 2 1/2 years now - we've installed it on the wall, had it sitting on the dresser, traveled roundtrip TWICE from Europe to the US ...and it's STILL working like new! This was our 'splurge' purchase with our second child since we kept everything from our first, and it has been worth every penny. This product is an excellent value and performs well - even under slightly abusive conditions. The battery lasts an amazing amount of time as well. We plan to keep this and use it as a monitor for when our children play together out of my sight.
I am extremely happy with this monitor. We have been using a noise monitor for over a year, but wanted a video monitor since our little one will soon be converting to a toddler bed. We wanted to be able to see if she got out of bed, etc. I did a lot of research on monitors and first purchased the mobicam. It stopped working on me in the middle of the night, the first evening. I returned it back to Wal Mart, no hassle and then went back to doing more research. I decided on tihs one primarily because we have block out blinds on our child's room and it is very dark - this one said it had good night vision. It definitely does, we can see her perfectly (in b/w). Every now and then it gets a static sound, but if you move it just a little it's fine. The sound quality is really good too.
I absolutely love this monitor. I have not seen any other video monitor in use so I don't have anything to compare it to but it has worked great for us. We have had it for 9 months now and occasionally there is static if I'm standing in a certain spot of the house so I just move the monitor and it quits. The battery lasts all day & I plug it in at night. I haven't had any interference from other monitors like some others have said but I do live in the country and don't have close neighbors. Most importantly it has given me peace of mind knowing my baby is safe in his crib and I can check with a click of a button rather than creeping in his room every 5 minutes and waking him up!
I absolutely love this monitor! I no longer have to go in the room to check on her everytime I hear a noise on the monitor. Now I can just turn on the video. The night vision is great! Even when I had her nightlight on in her room, it was hard for me to see her. With the nightvision I can see everything without even going inside the room.
This is our 5th monitor purchase and it's definitely a keeper! First we went with a cheaper set, only to have static/fuzz nonstop...so we returned them. Second, we got a more expensive set...and after only a few weeks of use, the nursery unit stopped working with the a/c adapter. So we had to keep putting batteries in the unit for it to work, which was a pain...so we returned them. Third set was one of the cheaper video monitors and it too produced a ton of static & the picture would flicker in/out. Not to mention the first night we used it, the batteries died in the unit and it did not notify us, no beeping or warning at all! Needless to say, we returned them. Finally, we decided to splurge & get this one...and it has been totally worth it! We have had no issues (knock on wood) with this set, it does everything we need/want. I highly recommend this unit!
