We already had one at home so we knew that we wanted another one The price is great! This phone is so easy to use and very comparable to any great higher end smartphone on the market. This makes our third one for this household because everyone in my family loves it!!

Great with Existing Tracfone Service!

We bought 2 of these and are using them with our *existing Tracfone SIM service (upgrading from a Marauder). I've only run into one issue with mine, it restarts occasionally if I turn off the screen with the power button (a common issue with the Moto E, so NOT a deal breaker for me) it does NOT reset, just powers off & back on, I just don't turn off the screen with the power button if I'm using it frequently. My husband's has no issues. These are the newest "smart" phones we've gotten to use with our plan & budget, so we're thrilled. These aren't the top of the line, but should do fine for most average users. In-phone memory isn't large (standard 8gb) but you can disable almost all the bloatware apps that you won't use and it can read UPTO a 32GB microSD card (not included). We aren't heavy app users (though we do take lots of pics) and a 16GB card is doing fine for us :)

Top Notch Smartphone

I'm a big fan of the Motorola Moto E product line. I own both the 1st Gen (2014) and the 2nd Gen (2015). This review is about the latter. This phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. It has 8 GB internal storage with 5 GB available. You can use a microSD card for additional storage. The home screens are adjustable - you can add or remove home screens. The Google Now Launcher app will automatically make one of the home screens a place for easy access to your Google Now cards (weather, news, and other things you might find useful - just swipe right). The 1st Gen Moto E has a LED light that instantly lets you know when you have notifications. This phone does NOT. Instead, the Moto app allows you to adjust how you are notified, which is a discreet short icon from the app notifying you. Between the processor, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB ROM, this phone is fast and can handle quite a bit. I run a wide variety of social networking, Google and game apps and it works wonderfully. There isn't much bloatware on the Verizon Moto E compared to other competitors. You can uninstall some of them and easily disable NFL Mobile and VZ Navigator if you desire. If you are looking for an affordable 8 GB Android phone - this is the one you want.

I can't say enough good things about this phone. It's the editors pick on pcmagazine.com and really performs great. This is a Verizon prepaid phone & was on sale at Walmart.com for $25 and sold at other stores for $150 +. This is the 2nd generation which has 4 G capabilities. I did a lot of research before I purchased this phone I wanted the best smart phone for the cheapest price (not cheap quality). I couldn't afford an iPhone but wanted something similar. I was reluctant to purchase a Motorolla brand because I felt it was inferior to the other newer brands but I'm glad I listened to the reviews! I wasn't expecting it to perform as good or be this nice since I didn't purchase a $500 dollar phone but I feel it is as nice as any. This is as nice as my Apple iPad but it's android and is preloaded with google apps (docs, play, gmail, hangouts, chrome, etc.) this is convenient for students and ppl who use these programs. The only issue is is has 8 gigs of internal memory and only accepts up to a 32 gig mini card so that is seperate. and I wanted a cell phone carrier with a cheap plan that offered small amounts of data like 1 gig or none because I have great wifi (Verizon) and work at a place with wifi For my area and based on coverage Verizon had what I needed. I also liked the fact that because I was already a customer I could switch from prepaid to monthly payments. I pay $30 for unlimited talk and text with no data but when I switch to monthly I'll have the same plan and price that includes 1 gig.

The quad-core processor handles my apps well, the gorilla glass is a nice plus, and the size fits into my pocket well. I was glad it wasn't pre-loaded with a lot of bloatware! The sale price of $30 made it worthwhile if all it was used for was as a music player and wifi downloader.

Great phone to use on other carriers

Quad core, decent display, and lots of online tips on how to use this phone for other networks. It has os 5.1 and while it is unlocked to other carriers and has a SIM card slot, Verizon uses a nasty block where it turns off other radio abilities. Once you get around this you can use it on Ting, Sprint, etc.

I love this phone. The price was right and it works great. It is considered an entry level smart phone, but it suits me to a tee. It has enough memory to have all my favorite aps and pictures. Google allows for more space with Google Cloud. Phone, case and screen saver all still less than $50.00. Great value. Great phone.

This phone gets the job done and it does it well. Voice quality is good when making calls, the sounds/video quality is good when streaming. Texting is great, no problems. I have all the apps on the phone that I need (about a dozen that I use frequently) (storage space limitations will be an issue if you like to use a wide variety of apps). The phone is everything I need and I am very happy with it - for the price I feel like laughing at all the people who pay 20 times this amount for a phone. The downside - If you want to use your phone as your main camera you will be disappointed the camera is poor quality and no flash.

For me, this was an upgrade from a Moto G, which was very similar yet limited to 3G data. However the Moto G failed, out of warranty by Verizon and Motorola's warranty does not apply. So I bought this to replace it, and I really like the 4G aspect as well as the option of storing data on a micro SD card that the Moto G did not have. This is a faster phone and has even longer battery life. Then out of the blue, it died. Just shut down and would not turn back on. Plugging it on to charge only caused the phone to become extremely hot. Now that's 2 similar Motorola phones that have died within a year... Verizon states they cover the phone for 90 days, and Motorola states it's Verizon who covers it regardless of what is on the warranty page, which states 1 year. Maybe it's time to buy another brand? What good is a phone when, while taking the best of care - it doesn't work and isn't covered under any warranty?
