I buy these when they go on clearance and put them into the freezer. So far I've never had a bad tasting or fishy smelling filet! Every piece has been delicious!
This cost $21 for just under 2lbs and will be dinner for 3 adults and 2 children with left overs for meal prepping.
These fillets are perfect for sandwichs (after you cut it to a good size), soups, and I think I should try smoking these next time I buy them.
The fish had a strong old smell. It didn't smell fresh as usual.
I've bought trout from Walmart countless times, and absolutely loved it, but here lately it has been awful. Bought 3 and every single one had a foul smell. Its not just the trout.. salmon is receiving bad reviews for the same issue.
i bought and stink, no good.
