I purchased the digital color weather forecaster to monitor the temperature of a small heated enclosure inside my outside greenhouse. With it I also got the benefit of its transmitting the temperature in the enclosure to another, older Acurite inside/outside thermometer. So I can see the temperature from two locations. I was unable to previously identify a replacement outside temperature transponder for that older device. Good to know that it is not obsolete.
I like this weather instrument because it tells me all the essential information I need at a glance. It is also amazingly accurate in its forecasts so I know what weather to expect in my neighborhood. I would highly recommend buying this.
Works well. Only thing I'd change is one more brightness mode - OFF. I use it in the bedroom and would prefer it all the way off when sleeping.
I've been using Accurite thermometers for some years. I wanted one for my new house which had 3 sensors (outdoors, garage, basement), but the only one they offered was too rudimentary (only see one temp at a time, need to access the back to step through sensors so can't hang it on a wall, and not backlit), but this single-sensor unit, with backlit color display, internal temp and humidity, and barometric pressure, was too good a deal to pass up. The site wasn't clear on how the batteries and power cord connected, but it turns out it's a neat system. I wanted to put it on the wall and run from batteries, but even though they apparently show it being used that way, they don't recommend it - and even though it can be wall-mounted while powered, they don't provide any instructions on how to remove the standing base, which would be required. As it happens, I have a place on the microwave which works fine, and the unit has been very helpful (and attractive) since I set it up - particularly the internal humidity, which has informed me that I don't yet need to start up my humidifier. It's very helpful that you can set the dimming level; after using it at 70% for some time, I've switched to 30%, and that's even better.
Like it very much. Puzzled to know why the time is 10 minutes behind mu iPhone, watch etc
I recently purchased this very simple whether station from Acurite for our Florida home so far so good . I have a more advanced one for our Michigan home that has been giving me a few problems.
I bought this to replace a very old AcuRite unit. It is just what I wanted and works well. Only complaint is that the sensor does not have the channel switch like my other units have.
Lights up whole little house at night even though it is as dim as it will go. I wish inside weather was larger and easier to read.
I use it to plan my day re driving and what to wear. I don't know what causes the problem. I like olwhat is happening with the barometric pressure. That part is correct, I also like the fact that it tells the time
like the look of the product & that it comes in 2 colors. does not seem to be completely accurate about rainfall. but I do enjoy the color screen & seeing the temperature.
