So we mount our weather stations on poles attached to out Roof. How many people have easy access to their Atlas unit every 2-3 months to change thd batteries?? Not many... I would need to get on the tallest Extension Ladder to get to my second story roof and then lower the 10 foot pole it is mounted to off the peak of my roof. It sure would have been great to have this when I installed my Atlas back in the spring.
This is such a game changer, it saves so much work and time by being able to change batteries from ground level. No longer need to get out the ladder just to change the batteries, especially in the cold New England weather
Excellent option. I do not like climbing on ladders which I had to do in the past to change the batteries in our older weather station. Plus trying to change the batteries upside down was difficult.
Excellent item when your Atlas sensor is mounted beyond easy reach. The 30 ft cable is plenty long for more most installations. Plug in the cable into the Sensor, secure the Sensor. Then install the battery pack. Just pop open the battery pack lid and first, replace the two Bank One batteries, then repeat with the two Bank Two batteries. Close the lid and verify the Atlas sensor is operational. A similar remote battery unit is available for Iris sensors. If ever you lose sensor signal, replace those batteries. If that doesn't work, you'll need to check the cable end to end. If lightning occurred nearby it may have damaged the unit. Contact AcuRite and they will help you fix or exchange the remote battery pack. Thank you, Victor Nowakowski

This accessory is necessary if you've mounted your weather station on a pole higher than 8 feet and you have to climb a ladder to reach the Atlas or change the batteries.

Installation of the Atlas was very easy. Love the display. When open my app, it says cannot connect to forecast service. Why not??
I have had continuous problems with my Atlas including frequent disconnects and the unit going offline and indicating dead batteries but batteries were fine and you just needed to remove and reinstall them to get everything working again. AcuRite support even replaced the entire Atlas sensor and I still had the same problems. Until I purchased the remote battery pack. Once I installed the remote battery pack all the problems were resolved and the Atlas now works perfectly. Clearly AcuRite has some sort of design problem with the Atlas battery compartment and/or connections. AcuRite should provide the remote battery pack at no charge to all Atlas users!
