I've owned an Iris, many years ago and now I'm using my second Atlas w/lightning detection. This combination sensor package just works great. It keeps accurate temperature, rain amounts, humidity, sunlight measurements, lightning strikes and distance and wind speeds. Today's storm racked up .67 inches of rain, a wind speed of 22mph, 17 lightning strikes with the closest at 3 miles. I've had it up even through hurricanes, luckily it's still recording today. My only concern is that these slimy tree frogs love to climb into it and clog up the fan that helps keep the temperature accurate, by moving air over the temp sensor all day, and thus keeping it from building up heat inside of the housing and giving inaccurate measurements. I'll have one of these at my house as long as I can as I check it every morning for the current temperature as we live in a spot where it is usually cooler here than reported by the local weather forecasts. I check the rain amounts so I know to water my lawn or not, it's just an invaluable treasure trove of information. Thank you to Acurite for such a nice, accurate and relatively inexpensive weather reporting device.
Am receiving hundreds of detections daily. obviously not accurate. Why is this happening and how do I fix it?

Seems to be prone to interference either from EMI or RFI. Often my displays tells me to move the sensor but it is well away from andy local electrical noise. Perhaps the man up on the next block short wave transmitter is doing it.
Nice to have a sense when the storms are moving in with lightning, especially when working outside. Problem is having the ability to adjust or limit it to a 5 mile radius or less. The unit has detected over 530 strikes since installing it a couple weeks ago. I know we have not seen that much significant storm activiity.

Every time it storms my atlas will freeze up and where the red lightning data displays it says sensor interference. When it is not storming everything is fine and shows zero interference. I have removed the lightning detection sensor. These things are junk DO NOT BUY!!!!
Even before deployment outside, with the sensor array in the same room less than two feet away the display could not detect it - pathetic. You all ought to work on that.
