I really like this model, it works great and I know I got a good deal on it. the sensor reports through several layers of wood, brick, concrete. I like the perpetual day, date and moon phase. No kidding - I pay attention to the moon so I can be well rested for my wife as she turns into a werewolf for 4-5 days each month. Having a clear data point for temp and humidity really helps my wife in dealing w environmental controls. Otherwise she'll run the dehumidifier non stop and jack the heat up to over 74 in the small aprtmentmin our home. I like how it dims sufficiently. It makes a good nightlight for a space if it's not shining on you in bed. This is part of a wider system we have with the new access and several sensors.

I have had this for over a year now and haven't had one problem. I use it to monitor my crawl space humidity. At first I was a little worried that it might not report correctly and I wouldn't really know it. But every time I check it's right on. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. I hardly ever give five stars.
Acurite has a 1st and 2nd generation of this model. Both are labeled 00806SBDI. But the 1st generation has less features. Accrite is sending the 1st generation product in the 2nd generation box and advertising with the incorrect photos on box. If the customer is not aware of these feature, they are buying the 1st generation model. When I brought this to Acurite's attention, they refused to do anything about it were very nasty on the phone. I couldn't believe they refused to assume responsibility and work with me to resolve this problem. Liked all the features. But the outdoor temperature sensing & correct display FAILED far too soon, just past 1-yr. Warranty. Kept calling Tech Support , recording said I was 20th with a 47 min. wait - far too long. Next call not connect. So question its reliability & no support.

Unit number 1 was a Christmas gift - and I loved it! It worked for less than 1 year. Accurite replaced the defective weather station free of charge. Unit number 2 failed in 9 months. Called Accurite support, after holding for 1 hour and 30 minutes, I was told I needed the original receipt (for the Christmas gift) for warranty replacement! In my opinion the long wait time on the phone to talk to their people is their way of discouraging you to hold the line - they only want to sell, not listen to complaints or problems!
