The air hogs fury jump jet is a fun toy to have , part plane part helicopter. You can transformer from helicopter to plane with a single button. It is Easy to use and makes take off so easy. You can press it as many times as you want , mid air and/or before landing. The remote control has a simple lay out (up and down, left and right). Real simple! Takes two double “AA” batteries charges fairly quick . The charge on the plane lasts about 15 mins. You need to be in a open area like a park or if you have a big yard. I wouldn't recommend flying it on the street, its narrow and there's a lot of asphalt and it could break since the plane is made out of foam and plastic. I also do not recommend flying it when you have windy conditions, this may cause the plane to drift easily. The box says you can fly it indoor, but I wouldn't do it since helicopter mode would be the only thing you could do. Overall I had a great flying experience, like I mentioned before make sure you are in a big open area since the turn on this plane are somewhat wide.
This is a review for the Air Hogs Fury Jump Jet. It transforms from a plane to a heli in mid air. It is recommended for use from ages 8 and up. It is for outdoor use only. Trust me, you do not want to operate this inside of your home. I was amazed at how much power and height that this Jump Jet has because it is so lightweight. It is made out of light plastic and Styrofoam. The dimensions of the plane are 12 inches long, 12 inches wide from one wing to the other, and about 2 inches deep. It weighs only 2 ounces!!! It has a range of up to 160 feet and has 2.4 GHZ of communication. The Air Hogs Fury Jump Jet operates with a vertical take off, dual flight modes and uses 4 AA batteries. The pre-flight checklist advises you to only use new, high grade non-rechargeable batteries because all other batteries will hinder the operation of the plane. I thought it came already charged up, but I found out the batteries were not included. The remote control has a lever and a push button that allows you to transform the Jump Jet from a plane to a heli in mid air. We took this outside to our front yard to fly it and I did not expect it to have so much power and height. I was shocked at what it could do. We need to get some more practice flying it, but it was lots of fun. You can tell how durable it is because we crashed it 3 times!! There was no damage to it at all even after we crashed it into the brick wall of our house!!! It would be great to take this to a park or out in the country where you have lots of open space to fly it. You need lots of room to be able to really enjoy it to its full potential. There are a few warnings on the box. The first one advises you to keep the plane away form obstacles and electrical hazards. The second one advises you to not fly it if the plane becomes damaged. The third one advises you not to fly it close to your eyes or face, and lastly please tie back or cover up your hair and secure any loose clothing. You do not want your hair or clothing to become entangled. This plane is lots of fun and could be enjoyed by anyone over the age of 8. I could not believe how much fun I had watching it fly. Next time, I will be the one to operate it. I give it 5 stars. It is fun, lightweight, durable, and makes a great outdoor toy. Follow all of the safety rules and enjoy!!!
The capabilities are built into this versatile helicopter/jet.It is very lightweight and after crash landing numerous times,it sustained zero damage.It is quite a learning experience.To begin batteries into the control panel,see instructions for that and for charging the the fury jet. The air should be calm,the display box works nicely as the helipad for lift off.Then it's up,up,and away! Speaking of which,you'll need lots of open space to acquire the necessary control required to become an ace pilot,because once you're up in the air with the helicopter mode,you can then transform to Jump Jet and zoom through the skies.The Air Hogs Fury Jump Jet is a fun radio controlled helicopter/jet combo providing hours of entertainment for all ages.I was able to go to the Air Hogs website as well as another fine site for the ultimate in demonstrations,it is amazing what this Fury Jet can do.
received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. The Air Hogs Fury Jump Jet R/C Helicopter came well secured in a box, and was easy to remove with cutting a few pieces of tape. The R/C controller takes 4 AA batteries, which insert into the back after pushing in a button on the back to remove the battery compartment door. You then plug the cord attached to the outside of the R/C controller into the bottom of the jet/helicopter and let it charge for around 15 minutes, until the green light goes off on the jet/helicopter, and you are fully charged to fly. Controls are left/right, throttle control, and a button to transform from helicopter to jet mode. Flying is better designed to occur outside as indoors is just too small unless you are in a gymnasium. The helicopter/jet is built of foam and plastic and withstood several crashes. My 9 year old son took to flying this quite well, and it will easily and readily reach at least 50’ into the air and fly at least 50 yards away from you. Start your flight by leaving the Air Hogs Fury Jump Jet R/C Helicopter in helicopter mode set on the ground – then transform to jet mode to really move through the skies. Expect around 30 minutes of use after each recharge. Recommended as Ages 8 and up, and I’ve gotta concur with that! This is a much better toy than the original helicopters that came our years ago – maintaining flight is a lot easier – and you spend a lot more time in the air than trying to launch it. It’s great to be able to use it outside too! Overall – a very good recommendation here for kids 8+! You won’t be disappointed with the ability to get this Air Hogs Fury Jump Jet R/C Helicopter in the air and flying!
I decided to fly this aircraft myself, as I am much less capable than is my 10 year old nephew. Right out of the box, there is nothing to put together, it's poly material... glossy fuselage and dense foam wings and tail, reflective red stickers indicating windows. No wheels or landing gear. IF you are getting this for your child as a gift, I think it's great that they will have to wait while the controller charges up the aircraft. That 20-30 minutes can be spent going over the does and don'ts as well as getting acquainted with the very simple controls. You will need four (I recommend rechargeable) AA batteries... not included. The batteries are kept in the R/C controller and that connected by wire to the aircraft body (see photos). There is black tape on the underside of the wings.. do NOT remove. In the attached video demonstration, I launch it by hand... it is recommended and safer for little fingers, to launch from a flat surface. Starts with the wings in the verticle position and then, after the props are turning, you can push the button that switches the wing pitch forward for forward flight. At full throttle, expect from 5 to 10 minutes of flight out of a single charge. The second charge seems to happen quicker than the first charge. When it seemed to be headed for a crash, I was able to switch the wing to the vertical position and elevate out of danger. At times, I was too slow with that and it did crash. The aircraft is light enough that when it does run into things or hit the ground, nothing gets damaged, so the build is pretty darn good! Keep track of the range, around 170 ft. and don't even try to fly it in breezy weather... it has no chance against headwinds and blows off course easily. Controls are not precise and you will be adjusting the rocker buttons to center the flight direction... this calibrates the controls/position. The vertical flight position is a little uncontrolled.. it simply spirals left or right, but you can't control forward or reverse and the slightest breeze sends it in any direction.. BUT this does get it away from the ground. It's fun, it's easy to learn and use... should provide hours of enjoyment OUTSIDE. Don't even attempt to fly indoors, it will not make tight turns as there is no tail rudder. Do I recommend it? YES! Why only four stars? Well, lack of precise control/responsiveness and vertical takeoff is nice but landing is a "controlled crash" at best. Priced right as compared to my nephew's other flying toys.
This item is made of thin styrofoam, has a rechargeable attachment to the remote which uses replaceable batteries. It does not take long to recharge the flying unit. It does fly, will take off from a flat surface but does well if lightly tossed. It does fly, however it will quickly get out of range and take off on its own. I recommend lots of space with few trees and no roads or power lines.
The Fury Jump Jet is an exciting product as it is a new concept being part plane and part helicopter. It can easily transform it's functions to allow for different manuevers. It does however have limitations. Included in the product is the "jet" and the remote control. The remote is simple to use with a little practice. The manufacturer recommends this toy for ages 8+ but I see no reason a younger child couldn's enjoy it as well. The jet itself is lightweight made of a styrofoam type material. The other components are plastic. the jet doesn't appear very strong. Replacements parts are available but this top is a little pricey so that would be a consideration. It's fun to fly as it can take off straight up like a helicopter with it's wing position straight up. This means no runway is needed. It has a transform putton on the remote which when pressed it can transform mid-air into a plane with fixed wings for further flight. I found turning over the box which the product was contained in can be used as the take off and landing pad and the jet can simpy be stored back in the same box. The jet is battery powered which has it's usage limitations. The batteries need to be charged for 45 minutes which only yields 10 minutes of flight time which can be disappointing for a child. It can also be problematic for children to share as it's short on another's turn. Since the jet is so lightweight it gets blown off course easily so alot of room is needed away from trees and other obstacles. Wind gusts can send it crashing to the ground but so far no major damage to report. The description says it can be used indoors but the box clearly says for outdoor use only.
The Jump Jet is a break through in RC units. That is about the best thing I can say about it. It charged fine The first flight was the last flight. The plane when started up flew backwards and became uncontrollable. It did a backward spin and would not respond to the commands from from the controller. It hit the ground wide open and was stuck on high speed. I tried everything to bring it back under control to no avail. I have been flying RC controlled units seems for ever and never encountered this kink of problem.
Vertical take off,dual flight modes,160 ft range. This jet is for out door use on a sunny day with calm air or slight breeze. It's made of plastic and Styrofoam,with strips of tape to hold wires on. I thought my husband would have it all broke up when we got it but it seems to be holding up really well. I do think the age of 8 plush is a little low supervision should be a must at that age. The hover mode is really cool just lift up and go. When you get it up were you want then the fun begins put it in jet mode and off you go like a real jet. Controls are a little tricky but after awhile it gets easer. It takes 4AA batteries so if it is played a lot You may want to find a deal on them. It holds a charge about 20 min. But the good news is it only takes 15 min. To recharge. You do have to synk jet and transmitter from time to time if you find it is not responding you mite try that. In spite of my first thought it seems to be pretty durable and a good desine but I do think it is a little pricey. I would like to thank Spark Reviewer for the chance to try this cool Air Hogs Jet.
I was excited waiting for my Air Hog to arrive, but when it arrived I was greatly disappointed. I could not believe how cheaply made it was. The wings are made out of foam, somewhat like what disposable coffee cups are made of. My first attempt to fly it, it did fly vertically, but when it reached a level of about four feet off the ground it lost control and began to flip and crash. I never got the opportunity to switch direction of wings to make it fly like a jet. After several attempts I kept getting the same results. I can't understand how manufacturers can get away with claiming something about their product when it is plainly false. I received this product from Walmart's spark review project so I didn't have to pay for it. I don't know the price of this item, but any amount would be a waste of money. You would be better off buying a drone. Any child that receives this product will be very disappointed and most likely get very frustrated.
