Great helicopter but the cage doesn't really protect much. It broke on the first day. It would be better for someone that isn't learning to fly it. :/
My son thought this thing was great. right away though, they have the remote 'eye' or 'receiver' right above the on/off switch. my son (6) grabs the thing and starts jerking on it thinking it's the switch. I'm guessing that probably was the start of my problems. We charged it up had a great time flying it. I found the cage to be protective. Problem I had was that 'eye' fell out. It's a tiny thing with three little pegs that plug in. It fell out and we plugged it back in 3 or 4 times. but then it fell out and couldn't be found again. this was the day after he got it. I was not happy that I spent nearly $50 and it only worked for one day. They should have the eye in a different location I think. That switch is soooo tiny, and the eye is right on top of it, it's really easy to break it. Other than that - great.
I bought this for my nephew for Christmas. It seemed like a great toy until he starting flying it in the air. As the toy goes higher, it looses its connection to the remote control and then just crashes to the ground. It broke within 10 minutes of using it. I wish I had bought the warranty so I could replace it for him.
Thought the cage would make it more durable. Nope. Bought 2 one broke within minutes.
Only received 1 of the items. 1 box delivered 12/17/13. Still have not received the second item of order 2677049-714454. The propeller of the first item received has been broken. I am not satisfied with air hog products and would like a refund.
This helicopter was purchased as a Christmas gift for my son and within 5 minutes or less of normal play it has a broken propeller. We have purchased air hog helicopters In the past and were also disappointed with the longevity but I thought with this new Cage design things might be different ; I was wrong. My son is very thoughtful young man and responsible with his belongings he was using the product carefully and it simply didn't last long enough to enjoy. I am extremely disappointed and will be seeking a refund.
Bought this toy for my grandson. Thought the cage would help protect it if it hit a wall. The rotor blade broke after the first attempt to fly and it hit the wall.
I was hoping that the cagea round this would keep it working for a long time. My son had this broken with in hours of getting it. My son is 9 & drives RC cars all the time but I guess he needs to wait a few years till he can try rc helecopters again. Wish they were made more durable. =( Besides the quality of the product. We did get the shipment in the amount of time that was promised. It arrived the day before Christmas.
Item was purchased with the belief that the rings around the blades would protect the integrity of the airframe, but after the first impact into the wall one of the main rotor blades snapped in half. Repairing it with some scotch tape remedied the situation for now, although it is a little harder to stabilize in hover flight. I would recommend the Air Hogs RC SharpShooter instead since the blades seem to be made of a more durable material and it has withstood many impacts and canine attacks, and still keeps on flying.
