If you are looking for something fun, this is fun. It is an indoor toy but can be used outside with care. It uses and infrared remote like a tv remote works. So it isnt like a radio controlled toy and doesnt have that kind of distance of a radio toy. Also sunlight interferes with the signal. This helicopter excels inside. As a parent I can give a few tips. Read the instructions. They are simple but important. Since it is used inside, hairs and fuzz can get caught in the rear rudder/propeller. If you launch the helicopter and it spins rapidly, that means the rear propeller isnt spinning right because of hair getting twisted around the shaft. You can pop the rear propeller off and pull the hair off and you are back in business. Other than these things their are no issues. It is a very durable toy. Have fun. My six year old has a blast with it.
Once you learn to fly these small very light helicopters they are soooo much fun. As recommended on the packaging they are meant for 12 yrs and up. I bought 4 of these helicopters for adults and they loved them. They are very light so they are not meant for young children. Even though my 6 year old Grandchild flew it under his fathers supervision. You need to read the instructions and you will have a lot of fun.
We purchased this for a birthday gift for our grandson age 7 who so loved it. It was what he always wanted and he was having his bestest day ever! It did everything shown on the commercials and more. The whole family was taking turns and excited. We will definitely but more.
This IR controlled helicopter is great! I purchased this for my 7 year old daughter and she loves it. In addition I love it too! We've had it for several months and it works fine. The only negative thing about it is that it really isn't easy to steer around the room. It is possible but is difficult. But it does, on it's own, fly in large circles which is fine. It is easy to hover and is a bargain at the online price. You simply cannot go wrong at this price!
I'm not sure what people are expecting out of a $15 RC Helicopter? I didn't expect much, and that's good. I got what I expected. The rear rotors broke first, which is good because they send you 2 spares with the heli. After 3 days of my 5- and 7-year olds playing with them one broke the stabilizer (small top rotor) and the other won't turn the top rotors at all. Before they were broken, we couldn't get them to do anything but go up and down and spin in circles. I tried attaching the aluminum plates to guide it forward as suggested, but that didn't help. Bottom line, the kids had fun with them for a few days, but now that they're broken the fun is done! “You get what you pay for” is certainly true here. If you're looking for a little bit of fun, get these. Just don't expect them to last very long.
After only one day of play, it broke. I sliced the body down the middle along the seams, split it open to see what needed repair. At the opposite end of the rod from the propeller, a tiny washer and ring fell off. With tweezers, I put them back on and applied a small bead of white glue to the end, let it dry, and taped the body back together. It's not as pretty as it used to be but it flies again, but for how long.
For $25 you shouldn't expect a WONDERFUL RC toy of any kind. It flies up and down and sometimes in a spiral until you adjust the trim and seems to wander left, right, forward and backwards on it's own. With that being said, don't expect a child to be too thrilled with it. It is however rather amusing if you have cats or dogs to watch their heart rate go up as they try to figure out what this thing is....especially if you let it drop down until they get close to it then fly it back up...ha ha. So the charge on the battery allows for about 2 solid minutes of "fly time" before signal starts to wear out. Last important item is it isn't "RC, Radio Controlled" it's Infrared, you know like your remote or some home theater surround sound systems...bummer, it shortens the distance for this thing.
My little one received this as a Christmas gift this year and a week later it has been put in the trash. In a week, we had gone through all of the little extra parts that it had come with and the little motor in the rear of the hellicopter had been stripped. Won't buy any more of these.
My son got this for Christmas last year. He took it out that day and flew it around. As soon as it was high in the air and would go out of the sight of the remote, it would fall to the ground and after two or three of these it didn't work anymore. It would only spin in a circle on the ground. My husband and I both tried to fix it but were unsuccessful. I would not recommend it to anyone. Its cheaply made.
bought this for my son who loves helicoptors, for his birthday. we put it all together with brand new batteries it worked for 1/2 hour and then that was it we couldn't quite get it to get off the floor again. we tried more new batteries and charged it again but nothing!!! i am returning it, but i am not so sure i will by another seems kind of cheap thanks!!!!!!
