Fun. Not too big. Even the shy ones cant stay away.
We bought it for our two year old son. He loves it. Bed only a few songs on disk that comes with it. Sound is good too. I would recommend.
My grandaughter absolutely loved the player. She now can listen to all her favorites without anyone having to hear what she's listening to or fighting with her siblings for player time!
After reading so many hepful reviews on Karaoke machines, I purchased this one for my grandaughters 8th birthday in October. The quality is amazing, as well as the price. It's ability to work with all kinds of CD's is the main reason I chose it. She has played with it everyday since her party and loves it. She's even sharing with her little brother since we got an extra microphone. I can't wait to put more CD's in her stocking!
My brother bought my 5yr old son a different one for Christmas and it didn't have a volume control on the mic or play CDs ..needless to say that one went back!! So I found this one, I love that it plays CDs,fm radio, has lights, and you can hook up iPhone/iPad with it, and you can turn down the mic volume!! But the volume itself isn't very loud...and the radio doesn't show what station...it's just a scan button... Although you can sing when a cd is in you can't sing/use the mic when the radio is on or if you have the iPad/iPhone plugged in... We were bummed about that... I haven't hooked it up to tv yet..(my son is only 5, and can't read) so for kids I'd say its good, easy to use and carry room to room... If only they would have made it a little louder, and a thing so you can see what radio station is on, and if you could use mic with radio&ipad it would have got 5stars!!!
Very portable because it's really sorta cheap. Easy to hook up to our 51" TV but voice is sorta drowned out. Hoping for a better product from AKAI for the price. Did not play burned CD/G's. Just okay I guess
We loved the site to store convenience and while the box (and kareoke machine) was smaller than I thought it would be, I was excited to give it to my kids as a gift. When we tried this brand new kareoke machine the CD kept saying "no" and despite following all the directions/troubleshooting, we could not get the CD player to work. Returning it was super easy at Walmart and we did order another one. I hope this one works. Just in case it doesn't, we've purchased the $5 (2 year) warranty.
The sample DVD disc wouldn't work (it worked in a DVD player but not in the Karaoke machine). The microphone only worked on AUX mode & not in Radio or CD mode. There was a problem displaying lyrics on the TV (It never did). I followed all the directions & troubleshooting recommendations. The troubleshooting guide was very limited & there was no tech support for this product. It's very possible it could have been dropped b/c nothing worked like it was supposed to? I might try another one to see if it works.
The only thing that worked was the lights and the radio. The microphone did not work. The CD player did not work. The Auxiliary input did not work. We were so disappointed! Don't bother buying this one! Wanted to give to my daughter for a gift and she was so excited to get it and so sad when it didn't work. Had to take it back.
Retail packaged and sealed from MFG so my review is not 2nd hand. It was packaged nicely with no damage or scratches on the unit. We purchased an extra Mic from Walmart and it is 1000 times better than the one included and was only an extra $12. After we applied power to the unit we pressed the light button and wow it has plenty of them. We then tried a new CD and no luck. The screen showed --NO--. We then tried the included CD-G disk and it also said __NO__. We noticed you cannot use the MIC's when it is on the radio selection??? You can only sing along when the CD selection is used.
