We bought these for my daughter when she was 5 for school lunches. She is now 11 and in 5th grade and we still have them. I wouldnt put liquid lunches in it. She only uses them for things like spaghetti and ravioli type meals but they work great. To keep things warm you should put hot water in it and let it sit for 5 minutes or so. This gets the bowl up to temp so it doesnt suck the heat out of your meal. If you do this it will stay warm. Also if you push the spoon holder out you can use it as leverage to open the lid. Now we need to order some for my son. Not sure he would want to take the pink and purple ones.
My son loves this, he wanted chicken nuggets for lunch at school and said that loves this. It is a little big and bulky but does the job.
This is super cute. I originally purchased this for storage of dog food in my car (for unexpected long stays, etc.) then I found that it had a cute little spoon that pops out of it. I'm a little bummed I didn't buy it for myself!
I bought this for my husband to use. He mostly uses it to take his breakfast cereal to work and eat. I have also used it to put chili in for his lunch as well. It is the perfect size for his breakfast and lunch portions. The little spoon that is stored in the lid is not useful, it's only about 3 in long. Other than that you just don't microwave the lid. We have washed it several times in the dishwasher with no problems.
Overall a great product and nice color. The only problem is that the spoon it comes with is hard to get in and out sometimes. Little kids may have a problem putting it back in. And if it's dirty, you have to wash that part too. It should have been designed slightly better in that area.
previously used a traditional thermos type unit to pack my kids lunches. When cracked, I bought these instead. Like the built in spoon, although it is a bit small for bigger kids. LOVE that it is easy to clean. It holds a lot and the stuff on bottom doesn't get soggy like in old thermos. Like that can use a dish and don't have to pack separate bowl.
This is great for things that are not liquid-like spaghetti and chicken nuggets an a hamburger. Never tried liquid-but your child can carry a warm hamburger to school etc.
I liked the thermos and we liked the special feature where you can pop out a spoon. However upon trial we discovered you could not use it for liquids as it leaked. When turned upside down (it it would end up that way in a lunchbox for my child) it leaked because of the special feature. It was not what we were looking for. However for an adult that could keep it upright at all times it is a good size and it looks nice.
Is it sturdy product. Would be hauled to keep warm anything like chicken nuggets, quesadillas or even sliced grilled cheese sandwich. I have traded with soup however it doesn't spill little bit on the sides. But that did not disappoint me. What I feel gross is that there is a small hole on the bottom of the lid which retain water and any soup that was moving around insid I have traded with soup however it doesn't spill little bit on the sides. But that did not disappoint me. What I feel gross is that there is a small hole on the bottom of the lid which retains water and any soup that was moving around inside. You cannot open it to clean it out. And it will eventually leak through after you wash and serve anything else in it. I try to open it with the small knife and he does not work. See the before and after pictures attached. It's just plain gross
We bought this product after reading previous reviews. Before using it for school lunch, we decided to try it at home. I am glad we did. We boiled a cup of water, noted its temperature then poured it into Micro Lunch bowl. we tilted it and swirled it around- it did not leak. For hygiene purposes, the tiny shallow spoon probably needs to be washed before storing it back in the lid at the end of lunch. Which kid is going to do that? Anyways, 3 hours later, we opened to bowl to check temperature- it was just a little bit above room temperature. Not hot/warm as expected, but barely tepid. I cannot possibly give hot lunches that contain meats, cheese,.... products in that bowl! So we returned the item back to the store and are back to cold lunches! :-(
