I'm very pleased with the Alcatel OneTouch Flint smartphone. I had previously bought a Samsung Amp 2 but it only 8 Gigs of memory, which was used mostly by the OS. I had to get a 32 Gig Sandisk to download any additional apps. The OneTouch came with 16 Gigs to which I added the 32 Gb memory card from the Amp 2, so I now have memory to spare! This phone does everything that I need it to, with front-facing and rear-facing cameras and a good sized display for viewing videos. The sound quality leaves something to be desired but it's suitable for most situations.
NOTE: I got this on sale for $50 I see a lot of these reviews from kids who don't use their phone for much more than facebook & Twitter. In this review I'm gonna explain what can be done with this phone & my general thoughts about it. First off for a $50 phone with a 5.5" screen,1.5GB of ram, 16GB of storage & a quad core processor, this thing is amazing. I'm hard pressed to find any phones in the sub $50 category with 16GB of storage. 8GB simply isn't enough anymore. Out of the box this product has 10.21GB of free space & with my 64GB MicroSD card, it never gets full. It was easy as heck to root & get going. I had to underclock the processor to save battery, but the difference is hardly noticeable. The battery is not the best, but far from the worst. The screen is huge and great for watching Movies or playing games. As per the usual to root this device simply use the KingoRoot Desktop app. There is a version of TWRP recovery available as well as the xposed modules. Emulators run silky smooth & dosbox is working great. I would recommend this phone to anybody who needs a phone for more than social media.
I bought this a month ago for my son for his birthday... he loves it but it has 1 downfall sometime it just cuts off but i think i know why. Whenever the battery percentage gets below 14% it cuts off. I could be wrong but it has done it 3 times so far. Other than that its a good phone..
I bought this phone to replace the Galaxy Sol I bought (also from Cricket). A huge drawback of that phone was that it had next to no storage memory and did not accept apps being installed on an external MicroSD card. I quickly dumped that phone and was back on the lookout for something that could actually be used with more than 2-3 apps but didn't need to be a super-high performer. This Alcatel has been great! Plenty of memory, great screen, great battery life and a the phone I should have bought. If you are looking for a good replacement phone that has good CPU power, good storage, great screen, and pretty good battery life... here's the phone you need.
Bought this phone a month ago online with cricket and extremely happy with it! Awesome phone, easy to use. Great deal, especially for the price. Only issue I've had is if I don't delete the screen after texting or a call, it pocket calls out (sensitive screen). But if I delete the screen and then turn screen off , no problems with that.
I purchased this phone sooner a month ago. I had a Kyocera... Don't buy one. This Alcatel screen is really big and the volume is cool. I don't like that I can't block calls. Everyone keeps asking me if this a Samsung because of the screen size. It's really clear and bright. I'm enjoying the phone so far so good. Thanks
Can't really expect much for the price of the phone. Battery runs out quick even with out use, camera not the greatest from either side, screen size and look are OK. Other than that, if you're just looking for a smart phone with a low price then yes, I recommend this one.
I bought this a few weeks ago to replace childs phone that was destroyed. We are both pleased with the phone. The only drawback is os is lollipop instead of the more recent marshmallow or nougat. Sturdy phone too. My kid had dropped this multiple times already (before the case came) and no damage has shown up.
I bought this phone as an emergency phone for my son. For a first time phone for a kid it's excellent. It's got a decent battery life. It has a battery indicator light. The screen isn't the best out there, obviously but it's not awful. Occasionally the phone lags during some gaming but that's to be expected for the price. I really like it for a kids first phone. The only issue I have with it besides the occasional freeze up is it seems a bit loaded with bloat but not as much as most cheap phones. And much of it can easily be uninstalled. It's a sturdy device. 5.5" screen. The viewing angles can get a bit dark sometimes but it really is a nice starter phone or a good phone to grab if you're not interested in a higher end phone with the latest Android and you just want something with a decent screen size so you can text. I am way more impressed than I thought for the price. $20. Can't beat it.
I bought this phone because I left my old phone on a bench in a rain storm on accident and it still worked but wasn't functioning as it should....that phone worked 10,000x better than this phone, after the rain. Battery life is awful. It will literally die when it's charging and your using it. Reception and sound quality also pretty poor.
