to teach my 6 yr old to sew little things. for her to sew found nothing wrong with it
Great sewing machine! My daughter and her Nana spent hours over Christmas break working on sewing projects. I would highly recommend you heed the age minimum on the product, though, unless your child has prior sewing machine experience. My 7 y.o. requires constant supervision while working with it. An older child would probably enjoy a little more freedom.
I rather buy my daughter a regular sewing machine. the thread gets stuck easily and there is no reverse button. The foot petal was also a problem. My daughter, age 8, did have a lot of fun with it, but I was contantly having to fix it.
A waste of money. Grandma bought this for my daughter for her 8th birthday, and they began working with it together. They made the included bag ok, but then switched to a real machine to make the skirt. DD loves to sew now, but this machine was not worth it, it just can't do enough and is much harder to control than a basic Singer, and therefore even more dangerous. Wish we could return it. As it is, it won't even come home from Grandmas, but go right to a thrift shop.
This was a gift from Santa to my daughter. It is increibly cheap. I have to constantly re-thread it every time it is used. The thread ca not be pulled through easily and basically it is a piece of garbage. Dont waste your money on this product. My daughter was confused at why the elves would make something so complicated.
Bought this sewing machine for my 8 year-old daughter, and we were both very disappointed over the poor quality and difficulty to use it. She tried and tried but could not sew anything on it! The only way to get nice stitches was to increase thread tension so the thread broke repeatedly. You have to tilt the whole machine to be able to re-thread it. Looks cute but is useless and very pricey for what you get. Heartsong refunded the money without questions, thank you.
