It's hands down the most versatile smart camera that I currently own. The camera includes features where it can be used a a baby monitor with the ability to set alerts for sound/ cry levels, a pet camera, security camera for home/ business or pretty much any use that you can think of. The picture quality is excellent both day and night which allows you to be able to easily identify people that the cameras detects. That brings me to the AI detection. Amcrest obviously spent their time with this feature and it's a game changer for those with pets. I previously had a camera in the same location and i would get motion alerts constantly when my pets walked around or hit the window blinds. With this camera there are no false alerts and when I walk by to test it, I'll have an alert within seconds showing that a person was detected. Truly a great feature. As far as the app interface, it is intuitive, responsive and easy to set up. While the camera can be set up and added to your current Amcrest NVR, it truly shines when used with the Amcrest Smart Home app as intended. This is where you get access to all the advanced features and all your recordings. It's truly amazing how many features that were packed into such a tiny camera. And speaking of camera size, I hesitated for a bit about how big this camera had looked in some pictures because I didn't want it to stick out. Well, if anyone is hesitating... just buy it now. It is so much smaller that I ever thought from the pictures. It looks awesome where it is and is barely able to be seen. This is hands down on of the most versatile and well designed cameras that you will come across in any price range. It can perform the functions of multiple different types of cameras just as well and probably better than most single purpose cameras. Don't hesitate at all if you are in the market for a smart camera. Amcrest did a great job with this product and stands behind it with great people and great support. I'm so glad to see Amcrest expanding their product lines while continuing to offer amazing products.
This indoor security camera makes for the perfect over the crib nanny cam. Its sleek and simple design blends easily into the wall above the crib, without taking away from the nursery design. Mounting and installation was as effortless as it gets. The Amcrest app is intuitive and easy to use overall. It has a mic feature, and baby monitor feature I use regularly. I do wish it would integrate with Google Home / Smart Things, though. I would like to be able to use my Google Hub to see the baby while I don't have my phone immediately with me or need to be hands free. Also, since my husband and I both have the camera access on our app, only one person can be logged in at any given time. Not a huge setback and it is a good security measure, but it would be nice to be able to add trusted devices so we don't need to log into the app at every use. Those few things aside, I like how the camera memory is expandable. We added an SD card to be able to go back and check on any given day. A lot of competing companies require you to pay for a storage subscription or need some sort of premium package to view additional footage outside of a certain time frame. This was one of the main reasons I purchased this camera, and by far puts it above the competition. Overall, a great purchase for the price. Highly recommend purchasing.
After using the Amcrest Wi-Fi Pan/Tilt Indoor Security Camera for a week now, I am very happy with my purchase. The camera is inexpensive but works just well as the more expensive brands. The set up was really quick and easy. This camera has many functions that come in handy. I love that you can move the camera from the app if you need to look around the room and not just at one spot. The app walks you through all of the features of the camera and explains how to use them. You can talk through the app to the camera if you're not at home, and you can also listen as well. The camera also has night vision which works very well also. I will definitely say this is a great camera for the price.
This camera is so great for our nursery! It fits in small places. The app was easy to download and user friendly. It captures baby on different angles using the tilting mechanism. Great image quality day or night. Very affordable!!
I liked the specs of 2 MP 1080p (1920x1080 at 30 fps), the 93 degree field of view, built in microphone and speaker, H.265 video compression, and Micro SD storage. The Amcrest ASH21-B camera doesn't feel flimsy and seems to be well built. The color balance looks true to life. The fixed focus lens has a 93 degree field of view which covers a lot of the area in a room. The brightness of the video is very usable. The microphone and speaker audio work well. To setup the camera and view the video, you must install the Amcrest Smart Home app on a smart cell phone. There have Android and iOS versions of the Amcrest Smart Home app. Once the app is installed, you can setup the camera. You setup an account to register your camera. You have to allow location and give permission to connect to the camera. You can either scan the QR code on the bottom of the camera or type in the serial number. You then either connect an Ethernet cable to your network switch or setup the WiFi connection. Initially, I used the Ethernet connection with a cable plugged in my network switch. At this point you can view live video on the camera on the phone app. You have the option to record video as desired or set it to trigger on movement. You can either store recorded video on the Micro SD card or activate a Smart Home Cloud storage account. Amcrest provides a one year trial Smart Home Cloud subscription with the camera. I had to Google how to insert the MicroSD card because it was not covered in the leaflet instructions. It is covered on page 5 in the User Manual (which can be downloaded at from the Amcrest website). You would want to format the Micro SD card to make sure it can be accessed by the camera which can be done from the phone app. Micro SD cards up to 256 GB are supported. You have to remove the Micro SD card and plug it into a computer to download the saved video files. In the Amcrest Smart Home app there is no way to manually add a WiFi connection. Because my WiFi is set to not broadcast its SSID, it would not appear in the list and I could not manually add it. I had to enable SSID broadcast in order to connect it to my WiFi and turn off broadcasting after it connected. I also discovered that once you connect to Ethernet and then switch to using WiFi, you cannot change the IP address in the Amcrest Smart Home app and you cannot add the camera again with the new WiFi IP address because it says the device has already been added. You have to delete the device and re-add it to change the IP address. The controls for adjusting the camera up, down, left or right were easy to use on the app and worked well but are not supported in the Amcrest Surveillance Pro app. The microphone is sensitive enough to pick up most any noise in the room. The picture was very clear and crisp. If it needs to be mounted up high in a room, the length of the AC adapter cable would become a concern. I would recommend the ASH21-B camera for use as a pet, baby or room monitor.
Small and easily hidden. Great for keeping an eye on the kids, pets or an elderly parent who is in the home alone.
Great mini monitor camera with tilt function! The only minor hassle i've experienced with it is the connecting to my phone's app for the first time. I have to use the LAN cable and connect to my modem as the wireless connection cannot proceed during the first time of syncing. But overall great camera!

Where do I start? I've been in CCTV since 1995, so I know a few things. I really wanted to like this camera but I just can't. Out of the box, two defective cameras where the audio did not work. While they can be controlled by both the Amcrest Home and Amcrest Pro software, neither one gives you much granular control of the camera. The video quality and IR is about the only thing that saves this camera. The image quality IS real good and I expect that from Foscam/Amcrest. I bought this as a bench test against my Motorola MBPConnect series cameras which you should absolutely NOT buy and my Geeni/Merkury Innovations camera which is equally terrible. I have to score this as a 1 or ZERO star because as a child monitor... audio is SUPER important. I did process a replacement to see if my cameras were just a rare bad batch... the replacements were also bad and unusable audio that just made poping and crackling sounds... bad batch of audio logic boards. The replacements also frequently dropped internet connection and would re-sync with Alexa incessantly until you unplugged it. Sorry, this product should actually be label AmCRAP.
After number of attempts I wasn't able to establish connection to the camera. I've tried all possible ways and few apps. Nothing worked. Returned it back to the store.
