Plug fit too tightly in "cigarette lighter sockets

The charger plug fit too tightly in my "cigarette lighter" sockets in my Dodge Caravan. I felt like putting the plug in and taking it over time may put unnecessary wear on the sockets, maybe causing them to be too loose for other plugs I might use from time to time. I also didn't like the fact that there was NO indicator light on the plug to let me know if it was working and my phone was charging #without having to pick up my phone and look at it while driving#. I will be sending the charger back.
