Finger print id is the reason I chose the latest model, and it was worth the extra cost. Now I'm totally spoiled rotten.
I've owned the 2nd generation iPad for a few years - liked it a lot especially the screen size, but it was heavy. Decided to upgrade to the IPad Air2 and I love it. Firstly the screen size is still the same but the bezel that surrounds it is smaller. Overall it seems tiny compared with the old iPad - that's a good thing. It's a lot faster also and I really like the new lightning connector. They say the screen has an antireflective coating and although the screen is good and high resolution it isn't impressive with regard to reflections. I splurged to get the 128GB version - as the old one was always asking me to remove content before I could upgrade something. I like it, but it would have liked it more if it had been a lower price.
I love Apple products and am an early adopter of pretty much everything they sell. Was skeptical about the Air 2 - did not think it could be much different than the Air and thought I would just wait awhile and see what the reviewers thought and hope for a deal after Christmas. But the Sam's Club offer caught me at a weak moment and boy am i glad. Three things stand out to me - there are several other differences that are significant - but these three make the Air 2 the ultimate tablet. 1. The screen - it is significantly better than the Air - movies and TV shows are sharper - clear and easier on my old tired eyes. I use the Air as a second TV in my office via the Comcast software. 2. The camera - finally I can take usable photos with an iPad - and not have to run for my iPhone when I want to take a picture. And having burst mode available allows me to get some interesting pictures pretty easily. 3. Thinness! I know the difference is what - 18%? - but that seems to really matter when holding the tablet. Specifically when holding it in one hand. Other things are not as obvious - it does "feel" faster - more quick to respond. The touchid is nice - and will be even nicer ones some more apps get on board. I haven't noticed any wifi differences - but we are in a a fairly small space so that may not matter as much. in summary - the Air 2 is a great tablet - one that will finally replace my macbook for pretty much everything I do. If you already have an Air it might not be "logical" to upgrade just yet - but anything older I would recommend upgrading very strongly - you won't regret it.
Best price and memory I found ever! I had the first generation...what a difference in speed, graphics,and memory! I purchased this during the V.I.P sale and opened a personal line of credit,I saved so....much as a result.I look forward to the deals in November!
When you purchase an item at Sam's Club it is that item. In search for and IPad Air 2 there were "identical" items on line that were cheaper except I could not find a model number that appeared on Apple's model numbers. I bought the unit at a fair price at Sam's. The true savings is in the cost of the extended warranty. The warranty was over one hundred dollars cheaper than at some box stores. In the past I returned a desktop computer during the second year of an extended warranty. Upon return, I completed some paper work and the manager had me go back to the floor to pick out a replacement. Nice going Sam's. That's why I keep coming back.
I like my iPad air 2, very user friendly. Wonderful product, use it daily. The price is steep for the 128g, although I'm really enjoying lots of memory.
I bought this as a present for my husband. So far he's been loving it. He uses it daily, it is an easy set up, we both love the fingerprint scanner for added security. It's light weight makes it easy to take anywhere if you want to.
Our iPad version 1 was no longer capable of accepting the newest Apps. I tested all the latest, greatest tablets and chose the Air 2. We're not disappointed. You'll agree, it's an excellent choice.
This is my 4th iPad, (ipad2,ipad4,iPad air, iPad air 2) and I would never purchase any other brand. Apple's software is just "simplicity" in all their products. The iPad has a simple setup out of the box and then enjoy! Apps galore to choose from. I highly recommend the iPad Air 2, it's lightweight and the system is fast and powerful. I love it for work and play. I wouldn't want to be without it!
I've had the iPad Air since it came out. Bought the iPad Air 2. it's nice, appears to be only slightly faster. I can't notice a difference in scree, but the fingerprint scanner for the home button is a nice touch. Makes passwords and access a lot better. I own a lot of Windows/Android/Apple products. The iPad Air 2 is slightly thinner and I cannot tell a weight difference. The ios 8 works fine, but I still "customized" it to get more features. If you have the Ipad Air (1st one), it's really not worth the upgrade unless you want the few features that Apple upgraded. Still a nice product though.
