Fits the aquariums perfect
Fits my 10 gallon no problem. I have my tank divided for Betta and frogs. The two feeding holes are prefect for me to feeding each side without having to lift it. I have a light sitting on top with no problem of burning. There are two holes in back to feed air tubes through, does not accept cords, mine just hang under hood, no big deal.
I love this product, I'm currently using 3 of these lids. No need to mess with heavy bricks or flimsy locking clips. I have all of my 10 gallon tanks on their sides and this lid is perfect for that. I've simply tightened the bottom locks all the way with a screwdriver so that the critters cant loosen them, and the top locks easily and securely pop into place when i close the tarrarium. (Just tighten occasionally with a screwdriver for security's sake) I like this set up because it's simple, easy and hassle free.
I have had gerbils for 28+ years so far and this tank cover is absolutely worthless. The instructions were not at all helpful/understandable. I can usually figure stuff like this out, but it never worked for me. My mom had picked one up (before tonight) and we had to take it back as it was useless. I was highly disappointed to see this was my only option when I went to my local Wal-mart tonight. It didn't even match the dimensions for the aquarium tank sitting next to it. I would not mind paying a little more for a decent, easy to use, screen cover to put on the aquarium tank I already have. (Same exact size as the $14 tank only option in the store.) The only other options for gerbil/rodent cages were a wire birdhouse (not good since they kick out their liter) and a plastic habitrail setup that is way too small for the price listed. (Ok for one gerbil, not 3.) I am trying to rehouse my lady gerbils and thought Wal-Mart would be a fast/convenient way to accomplish this. Next time, I'll see what Pet Smart or one of the other area pet stores have. It'd be more effective to get a window screen and get someone to make a screen cover. Rather disappointing selection . . .
