upgraded from a Samsung galaxy S III

I switched carriers and had to get a new phone. I previously had a Samsung galaxy S III and was looking for something with a bigger screen and not too horribly expensive. I decided to give this a try. I am so happy with what I got with this phone. I think it's even better than my last one! Everything is crystal clear and fast. The battery lasts a long time too which is a plus. If you are wanting to get this phone I recommend ordering the phone case for it before you pick it up, they don't have them in stores. But overall an amazing phone with a great price!

IT WONT BREAK!!!! LOL

I bought the Alcatel one touch quite a few months ago and... Never got a case for it. I work construction and have dropped this phone more times than I can count. It has all kinds of dings and dents on the phone but the screen hasn't broke. They made this phone well. Not saying it won't break on you, but it has lasted, without a case, dropping it on concrete, metal, from 2 stories up. Slid off the roof of my truck a couple of times when I put it there and went to leave. Anyway, it's a good phone. I haven't had any problems with it. You could do alot worse by buying a different phone.

A little background to my purchase. I've had the phone for about a week now and purchased it following several incidents. I originally had purchased a ZTE Zmax 2 (which I can just as easily recommend - fantastic phone - good battery life, great signal and performance) and ended up purchasing two additional ZTE's to replace a junk iPhone 6 plus my wife had and an upgrade for my daughter. They both love their phones, but my daughter's power key locked up simply from too much abuse (she's a teenager and always pressed the power button to wake it up - she also didn't always take care of it as well, so I'm being objective about the device. It wasn't that thing's fault it was abused). I ended up giving my daughter my ZTE and went for another. I would have just as easily purchased another ZTE but our local Wal-Mart wasn't stocking them anymore and could only get them online or at another store elsewhere. I read up on reviews on several different phones and saw this one and the Huawei Ascend XT (the one that's advertised for $149 on wal-mart's site). I ended up going with the Huawei as I knew their hardware was pretty reputable and they were quickly becoming a major competitor to Samsung, LG and Asus. First mistake. Now I've got a $150 phone I hate and won't use. Given I read the reviews on this Alcatel and they were all positive, I decided to give it a try. All I can say is man what a difference. The Huawei I had struggled to stream over the cell data connection, bluetooth was shaky and that finally capped my frustration. I couldn't even get a song to stream without hiccupping every 5 seconds. I knew it wasn't my carrier because my ZTE streamed without incident. This Alcatel doesn't even BLINK. It outperforms the Huawei so badly it's almost a joke. It actually outperforms my ZTE and I've been so happy with the signal, battery life and everything else for that matter. I'd happily recommend it.

Good - speaker terrible

The phone is good. However the speaker is terrible. And sometimes you have to select items 3 times before phone activate a selection or dial a number. And then there are other times when you barely touch it and it's calling and opening all kind of stuff. Wish they could fix these issues and it would be a great phone.

I made the mistake of buying this phone in a hurry, just before vacation, after my other phone's keyboard crashed. The camera is really poor, with the photos always looking too dark or too bright, even after adjusting exposure. I was attracted to the large app icons that were easy to see. This phone does have loud and clear sound on it, which is just about the only plus going for it, besides the capability of making actual phone calls. I don't mind trying out brands that I've never heard of, as was the case with this phone, but I won't buy another one.
