Bought this as a backup phone,as I already had a galaxy s4 This Maven is a SOLID phone,great reception, lightening fast internet and very well built!! Also,I did a side by side of specs tween it and the S4,and they're almost identical in every way. Ended up buying my son one and got family members as well. And now ATT let's your data roll over. Phone has been thru heck,and never failed,and had ZERO issues!!
I bought the phone Monday and chose value free shipping said it would be heelre by Friday the 7 got it on Wednesday the 5 but Walmart did not scan it properly before shipping in other words my att account was suspended because I already alwas a gophone customer so all I had to do was swap sims and then come to find out after 2 hours my phone service was not working call att cs and they said it was not properly scanned so watch out if its available for pick up at a store do that vs. Online because you will then alhave to send a email to attsolution@att.com because it will not be scanned properly but I truly recommend this phone I had just cracked my screen on my previous huawie fusion 3/att tribute after buying it in November last year this phone has same processor size and everything but runs so much faster and smoother than my privouse phone also this phone has a 8gb internal storage only 3.45gb available tho because of att useless apps and I the ANDROID 5.1 is very nice to have especially on a phone for 60$ and you cannot go wrong with att Service I do not have problems catching bars anywhere I go ive taken trips from NC to get Ohio and rarely lose signal I have would highly recommend this phone camera is OK for being a 5mp has some cool good features for the camera and the speaker is loud and pretty clear and the doby equalizers a nice touch if you have a house stereo system or car stereo were you play your music screen is really clear and colors look great but still have problems with apps randomly closing but think that will fix itself and keyboard I have to get used to because I'm used to using the swype keyboard also the only con I can find so far is the battery is not replaceable it is a permanent battery but the "backdoor" does come off all in all Im giving this phone a 4 or 5 BUT AGAIN WATCH OUT IF YOU ORDER ONLINE BECAUSE THEY WONT SCAN IT PROPERLY IF SUCH THING HAPPENS JUST CALL ATT CS THEY WILL temporary LIFT THE BAN ON YOUR ACCOUNT FOR 10 DAYS AFTER THAT YIULL BE PERMANENTLY BAND FROM ATT BUT SEND A EMAIL TO attsolution@att.com WITH A PICTURE OF RECEIPT AND YOUR NAME AND THE IMEI NUMBER FROM THE PHONE AND BEST TO TYPE EVERTHING AND PICTURE EVERYTHING CLEARLY!!!! I got this phone after my galaxy s4 crapped out on me its got a better version of Android and its screen is a bit smaller but over all I love this phone it works great for me I would recommend it
I bought this one for my daughter about a month ago.....she was able to crack the glass within the first two weeks of ownership.....shocking....not....anyway, this phone is a GREAT value for the money....when my apple goes kaput, this is what I am going to buy....Why? Well, it does take advantage of the LTE networks where available, 4G after that....plenty of simple apps, good web interface....good battery life... Cons: Weak glass....spend a few bucks on a protector...unfortunately, they can cost as much as the phone! In fact, buy two phones...when the first one craps out in a year or two, you can simply swap and STILL be under a $100 all in....not sure its worth fixing...the glass repair is more than the phone.....camera is very good to borderline excellent....more than field grade if you will....interface is simple, processor is plenty face for a basic smartphone.... Speakers....meah.....so so but, for $35.....really??? who cares..... Can hang up if too many apps are open...I stuck a 32Gbps SD card in there for her photos.... Only real bit of advice I would give is to buy a good to excellent cover/case and you should be set...micro USB for charging....screen is about the size of an I-Phone 5S give or take....small enough to fit in a pocket but, big enough for older eyes to view....great value overall....
I purchased (2) of these to replace previous contracted AT&T non smart phones. I added these phones to my AT&T account rather than use them as Go Phones. I have only had the phones for one week and they have been activated for less than a week. Thus far they seem as though they will meet expectations. Their intended use is for talk, text, and minimal data use, one goal was the ability to receive pictures which does seem much better than old phones. I do not plan to stream music, watch You Tube, etc. nor use as a computer. I am still trying to become familiar with the phones. It would be nice to have a manual ( seemingly a thing of the past) I have perused it [manual] online; would like to have a printed copy but am reluctant to print it as it is EIGHTY pages in length.....a lot of printer ink. I hope the longevity of these phones does not disappoint, I have read some negative reviews. I hope my experience proves better than that of some others.
I purchased this Go Phone because I wanted to access my exercise band and my flip phone didn't do data. It will access my Jawbone just fine. I don't text much, don't use my phone as a camera or a PC, so almost anything meets my needs. I do wish I could remove all the junk ware embedded in the phone's memory. Why have all that clutter if you don't use any of it.
For the price of this phone it is a great buy. If you can't afford an expensive smart phone but you want at least some of the performace of one of the more expensive phones then this phone is just right for that.. You can play quite a few games that surprised me. because it has the microsd card slot you can move most apps and games to that slot I currently have 6 personal Apps and 5 Games on this Phone 4 of the games and 4 of the Apps are installed onto the MicroSdCard. I still have nearly 2 GB left free. So I don't understand why many of the reviews complain about not enough free space. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is 1:The Screen like many cheaper smart phones and tablets doesn't have a great view angel however it isn't that bad so I took away .5 points for that. 2:The Bloatware that comes preinstalled not a huge deal since if you know what you are doing at all you can easily uninstall updates clear the data of said app force stop it then disable it... another .5 points taken away for that.. Bottom Line:This Phone is well worth the Price.. and it's now even reduced! From 60$ to 40$. I always round the price up..
Obviously its not a forever phone. I had to buy something for an in between phones while I waited for the new iPhone to come out. I've had it two months and now the phone constantly drains in maybe 4 hours and less with dependant on use. Now, I dont use this phone much and my screen in on the lowest setting for brightness, so I should expect it to last throughout the day like it used to but apparently not anymore. I also dont keep it on the charger and charge on an as needed basis but not going under 20%. If you happen to get a phone where the battery lasts longer, its a fab deal if you managed to get a low price for it. I got it for $30 so I dont feel so hard done by. Other than that the phone runs pretty well. The storage is small but upgradable. The back camera is not awful but the front camera is pretty rubbish in the dark but I feel like I'm asking top much for a $30 phone lol. I like it and would definitely recommend it as a temp and worth at least trying as a prepaid.
It wouldn't be a bad basic smartphone if it didn't have the issue with not having an overflow button. So apps like Fuel Log where you need the overflow button (3 dots on newer androids) you will be totally unable to use that function in those apps. Screen very low res and my call audio goes out if I leave the phone app, not a very good phone.
After about 3 months, the phone started locking up due to low memory just from the normal updates. Sometimetimes it would ring, sometimes it won't. When we need our son to answer and its doesn't work all of the time, then it is worthless. We had it look at twice and been told it just a cheap phone.
