Excellent customer service
This clamp on boat seat swivel works very well on a 12 ft Jon boat. Great for fishing.
I read many reviews on these little guys before purchasing them with the molded plastic Wise boat seats. I read how the clamps are hard to install and hard to turn the wingnuts cause they are placed in a hrad to get to area etc... After using them myself I think people are pretty particular about expecting ULTIMATE PERFECTION from everything they buy. I find it pretty easy to turn the wingnuts and only spent about 4-5 minutes to install the clamp onto my boat bench. I made extra sure to tighten it down really good, and haven't had to adjust it since. It creeks a little and made me nervous at first, but if tighhtened down really good it is super stable and has not fallen off. I have used the clamps with my boat seats about 5 times now and haven't had to adjust mine since the first time I clamped it on. It swivels 360 degrees and does everything I was expecting out of it. It is perfect for me as I have a smaller 14' boat so I can bring myself fishing, or 2 or 3 people and have the versatlity of being able to place the seats in various positions at any time to fit the need of the fishing party.
refurbished a family ski boat and use it primarily for fishing.New seats and these swivels have made this now very comfy to fish in!!For cleaning, its a matter of seconds to remove the seats completely, so very happy .
Easy way to add a swivel seat to a bench seat in minutes. A little bit hard to reach wing nuts once seat is attached but nice to be able to quickly move seat on the bench to balance boat.
This all Metal Clamp on Boat Swivel works really good with the Low Back Boat Seat. Borrowing a Boat so didn't want to fastener anything permanent to the Boat. Clamps very easy and comes off just as easy. Great Product!
I will start with the problems. When you mount the seat to the swivel base there isn't enough room under the seat to reach the wing nuts to tighten the clamp onto the boat's seat. If you don't get the clamp quite tight it just pops off the boat's seat with very little pressure, i.e. leaning against the seat back. What I wound up doing to solve the problem was to replace the wing nuts with 3/8x16 nuts then use a deep socket wrench to tighten the nuts. You just have to be careful not to over tighten the nuts which could damage the boat's seat. Other than that, the swivel works great and when correctly tightened is very secure. I just keep a deep socket wrench in my tackle box now and am a happy and comfy fisherman! ><}}}}'>
After reading so many of the reviews on this product I decided to go with it but I made sure I made the tools described in reviews , which I made at home out of two one foot pieces of PVC pipe cutting notches on one end to fit over the wing nut. It is best to have two of these so you can hold the wing nuts on opposite ends of the bolts and really crank down on them simultaneously which insured that the clamps would not slip with a person sitting in the seat attached to the clamp on boat swivel. My 91 year old father who weighs about 165 lbs sat comfortably all day while fishing for large mouth bass on a recent trip to a California lake. I would give it an A for that day. CaptJD
I'm even using a 3ft rod iron, water valve on/off tool with a fitting at the end that fits throwing nut perfect. So I'm able to put a good amount of torque on the wing nuts and get them as tight as I can but after a couple of boat rides they seem to start sliding off little by little!
This product does not hold at all. If you sit still, you're good, but when you swivel to throw a fishing line - expect it to come loose. Almost threw my brother out of the boat. I would not recommend this product at all. Actually, it's dangerous because you think it's safe. When it landed back on the boat the frame bent almost causing my brother to fall forward in the boat. BTW - My brother is 6'2 and 215 - not a super big man.
